As part of its growth strategy, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is looking to hire a Trade Marketing Manager. This role is pivotal in driving the execution of business and marketing strategies across multiple regions to boost profitable growth and enhance the long-term value of CCBA’s diverse portfolio of brands.
Key Purpose of the Role
The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies that drive profitable growth, increase brand equity, and maximize the long-term value of CCBA’s products. This position requires a dynamic leader with the ability to integrate all marketing activities, understand market trends, and implement innovative marketing campaigns across various trade channels.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Annual Marketing Plans: Develop and deploy marketing plans annually, ensuring alignment with business objectives and CCBA’s overall marketing strategy.
- Marketing Strategies & Programs: Lead the development and execution of business strategies that maximize recurring volume growth while ensuring long-term brand profitability.
- BTL Communication: Spearhead the development and deployment of Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing communication, ensuring alignment with overall marketing initiatives and brand objectives.
- Portfolio Strategy: Define and implement strategies that maximize profit flow from CCBA’s portfolio of brands.
- Market Trends: Analyze market trends to identify strategic impacts and opportunities for business growth and innovation.
- Marketing Integration: Integrate marketing efforts (advertising, promotions, experiential marketing) to create a unified and consistent brand experience across all channels.
- Promotional Plans: Design and implement promotional strategies for different channels/regions, focusing on maximizing consumer engagement and sales.
- Market Data Analysis: Utilize data to anticipate competitive trends, assess strategic implications, and optimize business potential.
- Budget Optimization: Challenge marketing production costs to ensure effective use of the marketing budget.
- Leadership: Provide leadership to the marketing team, fostering talent development and strategic thinking. Offer guidance and support on complex business development projects.
- Strategic Leadership Support: Support the Director by providing thought leadership and strategic insights to shape business strategy and marketing plans.
Skills, Experience & Education
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a strong track record of driving business improvements and delivering value.
- Proven ability in implementing Route to Market (RTM) or Route to Consumer (RTC) strategies in both traditional and modern trade environments, especially in FMCG.
- Solid experience in customer segmentation, channel management, and competitive analysis.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with an in-depth understanding of business concepts such as margins, discounts, pack mix, and volume variance analysis.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to anticipate and address talent needs while driving organizational impact.
- Experience in working across multiple regions is highly desirable.
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a business-related course.
- Professional certification in marketing or a related field is a plus.
- A Master’s degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
