We are seeking a highly motivated Manager – Wellness to join our team at Jubilee Health Insurance Limited. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Operations Officer and will be based at our Head Office in Nairobi.
Role Purpose
The Manager – Wellness will lead the development, execution, and management of corporate wellness programs. The role focuses on driving strategic initiatives to enhance customer and employee well-being, integrating wellness solutions into insurance products, and fostering a culture of preventive healthcare. The role holder will oversee population health initiatives, technology deployment, clinical integration, and strategic planning to improve health outcomes, quality of care, and optimize Total Medical Expense Management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Develop, implement, and supervise wellness programs using evidence-based guidelines to drive clinical performance, improve retention, and reduce health disparities.
- Structure and oversee disease management programs and care coordination.
- Develop and monitor the performance of new products and packages that promote preventive health services.
- Collaborate with leadership to define annual wellness strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead the development and successful rollout of preventive health technologies.
Operational
- Act as a key spokesperson on value-based care, educating clients, employees, and clinicians.
- Work closely with care management and provider partnerships to align clinical priorities with customer needs.
- Implement and evaluate population health strategies to optimize healthcare utilization, cost, and patient satisfaction.
- Identify key market drivers and develop strategies to address incident rates and claim costs.
- Ensure providers adhere to best clinical practices and cost standards, addressing poor performance where necessary.
- Monitor disease trends using claims data and advise clinical operations on appropriate interventions.
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical disease and population health management strategies.
- Implement and supervise medical service reviews (prospective, concurrent, and retrospective).
Leadership & Culture
- Guide and support health navigators in their collaboration with providers to enhance care quality and efficiency.
- Supervise third-party providers managing chronic disease, population health, and telehealth services.
Corporate Governance
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Data Protection laws, and industry-specific regulations.
- Implement internal company policies and operational compliance programs.
- Develop controls that promote compliance with external laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Foster an ethical organizational culture, promoting integrity and compliance at all levels.
- Encourage open communication and reporting of compliance concerns.

Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine & Surgery.
- A master’s degree in healthcare management/public health is an added advantage.
Relevant Experience
- At least 5+ years of experience in wellness program management, health promotion, or corporate wellness within insurance, healthcare, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of preventive healthcare, employee wellness, and behavioral health strategies.
- Experience in developing and implementing wellness programs with measurable outcomes.
