The Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), (formerly, the Rural Electrification Authority) a State Corporation established under the Energy Act, 2019, is mandated to enhance provision of electricity in the rural areas of the country as well as develop, manage and promote the use of renewable energy in Kenya.
Through its mandate, the Corporation seeks to improve the socio-economic well-being of Kenyans living in rural areas as well as develop cheap alternatives to sources of energy through the promotion of renewable energy.

1. General Manager, Information, Education, and Communication (Grade REREC 2)
Directorate: Information, Education, and Communication
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement information, education, and communication policies and strategies.
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations within the directorate.
- Develop and communicate organizational strategy and performance goals.
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets to ensure effective financial control.
- Implement Corporate Social Responsibility programs to enhance public engagement.
- Collaborate with government, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote renewable energy initiatives.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.
- Mentor and guide staff while fostering a culture of ethical practices and quality service.
2. Manager, Advocacy and Public Awareness (Grade REREC 3)
Directorate: Advocacy and Public Awareness
Responsibilities:
- Develop advocacy strategies and policies to promote renewable energy.
- Ensure effective public communication about REREC’s mandate and initiatives.
- Coordinate the development of communication materials, including newsletters and in-house publications.
- Establish partnerships with counties and stakeholders to enhance advocacy programs.
- Oversee the creation and management of website content.
- Monitor and evaluate advocacy initiatives and departmental activities.
- Prepare proposals and comprehensive reports for ongoing projects.
3. Manager, Biomass Energy (Grade REREC 3)
Directorate: Renewable Energy, Research, and Development
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update the Renewable Energy Master Plan for biomass energy.
- Coordinate policy development for biomass technologies, including biodiesel, bioethanol, and cogeneration.
- Conduct feasibility studies and monitor biomass projects.
- Collaborate with counties to promote biomass energy use.
- Plan and oversee departmental budgets and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Set performance targets and ensure adherence to departmental objectives.
4. Manager, Construction (Grade REREC 3)
Directorate: Power Distribution and Regional Coordination
Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation and implementation of power system designs and construction contracts.
- Supervise and evaluate REREC grid projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to standards.
- Provide technical leadership on matters related to grid extension and construction.
- Maintain accurate records of all projects and ensure their continuous update.
- Liaise with various departments to address project-specific issues and ensure seamless operations.
5. Manager, Finance and Accounts (Grade REREC 3)
Directorate: Finance and ICT
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sound financial management policies.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial obligations and internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to guide decision-making.
- Monitor financial risks and optimize resource allocation for corporate activities.
- Lead efforts in resource mobilization and Public-Private Partnership programs.
6. Manager, Systems and Forensic Audit (Grade REREC 3)
Directorate: Internal Audit
Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic research and analysis to identify financial discrepancies and potential fraud.
- Develop and enforce internal audit standards and procedures.
- Provide advisory support to management on security and audit issues.
- Investigate suspected cases and recommend corrective measures.
- Mentor staff and supervise departmental performance management.
7. Senior Administrative Officer (Grade REREC 5)
Directorate: Human Resource and Administration
Responsibilities:
- Supervise office support services, including cleanliness and equipment allocation.
- Coordinate administrative activities such as meetings, conferences, and special events.
- Monitor office equipment and furniture requirements.
