The successful candidate will fill in the above position:
- Studying and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Planning welding processes based on the design and material specifications.
- Performing welding tasks using techniques such as arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and gas welding.
- Welding metal components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Cutting, shaping, and preparing metal pieces for welding using tools like grinders, cutters, and drills.
- Cleaning and inspecting metal surfaces to ensure proper welding conditions.
- Inspecting welded joints for accuracy, strength, and structural integrity.
- Identifying and repairing defects in welds, such as cracks or voids.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and welding codes.
- Maintaining and repairing welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
▪ Artisan certificate in welding and Fabrication.
▪ Crafts certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
▪ Certification in welding techniques is an added advantage.
▪ Knowledge of Boilers, Steam Works, and Incinerators is an added advantage
▪ 2 years’ experience in a similar position
