We are currently seeking a local resident of Turkana County to fill the position of Assistant Project Officer – Livelihoods DREAM UP Project in Kakuma.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation:
- Implement all livelihoods and resilience activities in Kakuma in collaboration with the Project Officer – Livelihoods.
- Engage stakeholders, including target project participants, ensuring effective project interventions while upholding World Vision’s ethos.
- Work with the Project Officer to enhance coordination with government and private partners to build synergies and ensure joint execution planning.
- Support the Project Officer in providing technical support to ensure integration and synergy with other project interventions.
Quality Assurance – Monitoring & Evaluation, Reporting, and Documentation:
- Supervise and monitor project interventions to ensure compliance with agreed standards.
- Work with the Project Officer to conduct regular project progress review meetings with staff and communities.
- Ensure data collection, validation, and updating in the approved DM&E system.
- Liaise with the Project Accountant to track project implementation expenditures, manage work plans, and budgets.
Advocacy, Engagement, Partnership, and Networking:
- Work with the Project Officer – Livelihoods and the Project Manager to engage Sub-County and County Governments to leverage financial and human resources for project sustainability.
- Represent the project in Sub-County and Ward-level forums as advised by the Project Officer.
- Strengthen partnerships with government and private entities to enhance technical capacity development, including agricultural extension support, inputs, financial services, and market access.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness, or Agricultural Extension, with at least 2 years of experience in climate-smart agriculture, agribusiness, or economic empowerment; OR
- Diploma in Agriculture with 5 years of experience in climate-smart agriculture, agribusiness, or economic empowerment.
- Experience in coordinating multi-sectoral projects.
- Experience in working with partnerships, including county governments, civil society, donors, and community structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong cross-cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and ability to work with diverse communities.
