Position 1: Specialist: Health & Safety

  • Location: Nairobi, Nairobi Municipality, Kenya

Role Overview

As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will develop, implement, and monitor DHL’s safety and environmental programs. Your mission is to promote a safe working environment, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain quality standards in our transport logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for fleet operations.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and preventative measures.
  • Train employees on safety practices, emergency response, and accident prevention.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and manage waste reduction programs.
  • Ensure operational processes meet internal and external quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, issue PPE, and monitor usage.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and handle external inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport goods between locations while adhering to traffic laws and DHL’s protocols.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and follow assigned schedules.
  • Load and unload goods with care, ensuring zero damage.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
  • Foster strong customer relationships by delivering goods on time and professionally.
