Role Overview
As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will operate and maintain water infrastructure systems to ensure a stable, reliable, and efficient 24/7 water supply and sewerage service. The role involves approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% office tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of water and sewerage projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Manage field service activities, including the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of water and sewerage systems.
- Develop and implement operations and maintenance plans, as well as standard operating procedures.
- Conduct on-site inspections and assessments to identify technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on water and sewerage infrastructure systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation of water and sewerage projects.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards governing water and sewerage systems.
- Promote and enforce the company’s safety practices within the workplace.
Skills and Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of proven experience in designing, operating, and maintaining water infrastructure systems.
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in machinery operation and maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and mechanical principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for engineering design, data analysis, and project management.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies, such as Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), is highly desirable.
