Kirinyaga County Government Hiring In 20 Positions

The County Government of Kirinyaga is pleased to announce multiple job openings across various departments. Available Positions and Job Descriptions

1. Revenue Clerks – 30 Posts

Revenue Clerks will be responsible for collecting county revenue from designated revenue sources, issuing receipts for revenue received, reconciling daily revenue collections, and maintaining proper records of all financial transactions. They will also ensure compliance with revenue collection policies and report any irregularities.

2. Office Administrative Assistant II

The Office Administrative Assistant II will handle office correspondence, schedule appointments, organize and manage files, type and proofread documents, and support the overall administrative functions of the department. The role also requires coordinating office supplies and providing clerical assistance to senior officials.

3. Office Administrator

The Office Administrator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the office, supervising junior administrative staff, overseeing document management, and ensuring efficient communication within the department. Additionally, the individual will liaise with external stakeholders and facilitate meetings.

4. Registered Nurse III

The Registered Nurse III will provide patient care, administer medication, monitor patients’ progress, and assist in medical procedures. Other responsibilities include educating patients on preventive healthcare measures, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring adherence to medical standards.

5. Cleaning Supervisors – 5 Posts

Cleaning Supervisors will oversee cleaning staff, ensure adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards, manage cleaning schedules, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies. They will also conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness in public offices and facilities.

6. ECDE Teachers – 9 Posts

ECDE Teachers will be responsible for developing and implementing early childhood education curricula, creating a safe and engaging learning environment, monitoring children’s progress, and maintaining records. They will also collaborate with parents and caregivers to enhance the educational experience.

7. Youth Polytechnic Instructors III – 7 Posts

(Building & Construction – 2 posts, Carpentry & Joinery – 1 post, Motor Vehicle Mechanic – 1 post, Plumbing – 1 post, Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy – 2 posts) The instructors will be responsible for training students in practical and theoretical skills, assessing students’ competencies, preparing lesson plans, and maintaining workshop equipment. They will also guide students in projects and ensure adherence to industry standards.

8. Senior Youth Polytechnic Instructors – Building & Construction

The Senior Youth Polytechnic Instructor in Building & Construction will lead training programs, oversee curriculum implementation, evaluate student performance, and manage learning resources. They will also offer mentorship to junior instructors and ensure the institution meets quality training standards.

9. Senior Youth Polytechnic Instructors – Welding & Fabrication

This role involves training students in welding and fabrication techniques, supervising workshop activities, developing training materials, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The instructor will also conduct assessments and maintain training records.

10. Physical Planner (County Valuation Officer)

The Physical Planner will be responsible for evaluating and implementing county physical development plans, conducting land valuation, advising on urban planning, and ensuring compliance with zoning regulations. The officer will also collaborate with other government agencies on planning initiatives.

11. Assistant Public Health Officer III

The Assistant Public Health Officer III will implement public health programs, conduct health inspections, enforce health regulations, and educate communities on hygiene and disease prevention. The role also includes data collection and reporting on public health issues.

12. Superintendent Water Services

The Superintendent of Water Services will oversee the county’s water supply and distribution, manage water treatment plants, coordinate maintenance of water infrastructure, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

13. Engineering Technologist

The Engineering Technologist will assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects, supervise technical staff, conduct quality control, and ensure the proper maintenance of county infrastructure. The role involves working closely with engineers and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

14. Community Development Officer

The Community Development Officer will design and implement community programs, facilitate stakeholder engagement, support economic empowerment projects, and monitor the impact of development initiatives. They will also promote social welfare programs within the county.

15. Environment Management Officer

The Environment Management Officer will be responsible for developing and enforcing environmental policies, conducting environmental impact assessments, promoting waste management programs, and engaging the community in conservation initiatives.

16. Medical Specialist – Paediatrician

The Paediatrician will diagnose and treat illnesses in children, provide specialized medical care, conduct routine check-ups, and advise parents on child health. The role also involves working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality pediatric services.

17. Medical Officers

Medical Officers will provide general medical care, diagnose and treat patients, prescribe medication, and conduct medical examinations. They will also oversee patient referrals and participate in health outreach programs.

18. Pharmacists

Pharmacists will dispense medication, provide drug information to patients and medical staff, ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, and monitor drug stock levels. They will also contribute to public health initiatives by promoting safe medication use.

19. Director Water & Irrigation Services

The Director of Water & Irrigation Services will develop and oversee policies related to water management and irrigation projects. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating water supply projects, and ensuring compliance with national water policies.

20. Director Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE)

The Director of ECDE will be responsible for formulating and implementing policies on early childhood education, supervising ECDE teachers, managing learning resources, and ensuring quality education standards in pre-primary institutions.
