1. Chairperson – Kisii County Public Service Board

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Chairperson of the Kisii County Public Service Board, you will:
- Chair all board meetings and provide strategic leadership.
- Oversee disciplinary control and removal of individuals holding positions in the County Public Service.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the County Assembly on the Board’s functions.
- Promote County Public Service values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
- Advise the County Government on human resource management and development.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county.
- Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission regarding remuneration, pensions, and gratuities for county public service employees.
Requirements for Appointment:
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be Kenyan citizens.
- Hold a degree from a recognized university in Kenya.
- Have at least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
- Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and devolution laws.
- Demonstrate understanding of national values and principles of governance.
- Be strategic thinkers and result-oriented professionals.
- Satisfy Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
- Be members of a registered professional body.
Additional qualifications include:
- A master’s degree from a recognized university (an added advantage).
- Completion of a Senior Management Course (SMC) or Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP).
2. Secretary – Kisii County Public Service Board

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Secretary to the Kisii County Public Service Board, you will:
- Serve as the Accounting and Authorized Officer of the Board.
- Be overall in charge of the Secretariat.
- Plan and budget for the Board’s operations.
- Act as the custodian of all records, assets, and minutes of the Board.
- Communicate Board decisions to stakeholders.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for submission to the County Assembly.
- Develop agendas for Board meetings in consultation with the Chairperson and take minutes during meetings.
- Initiate programs and activities for staff performance and reward management.
- Propose programs and strategies necessary for achieving the Board’s mandate.
Requirements for Appointment:
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be Kenyan citizens.
- Hold a degree from a recognized university in Kenya.
- Have at least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
- Have at least five (5) years of experience in a leadership position at a senior management level in public service or the private sector.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
- Possess qualifications as a certified secretary.
Additional qualifications include:
- Proven knowledge and experience in policy-making.
- Ability to transform political visions into implementable government policies.
- Expertise in human resource management, public communication, and citizen engagement.
