The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) is a State Corporation established under Section 3 of the AFA Act No.13 of 2013. Our mandate is to regulate the crops sector in Kenya, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, standards, and codes of practice. In line with our mandate, AFA is inviting applications from qualified Kenyan professionals to fill the following temporary positions (six-month terms).

Available Positions and Job Descriptions

1. Accountant, AFA Grade 6

  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Process payments and maintain financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Assist in budget preparation and implementation.
  • Reconcile accounts and perform variance analysis.

2. Office Administrator

  • Manage office correspondence and communications.
  • Organize meetings, prepare minutes, and coordinate office activities.
  • Maintain office records and databases.
  • Support administrative functions to enhance efficiency.

3. Administration Officer

  • Coordinate administrative activities and support office operations.
  • Supervise office logistics and facility management.
  • Maintain records and oversee procurement of office supplies.

4. ICT Officer

  • Provide IT support and maintain system infrastructure.
  • Ensure network security and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement IT solutions.
  • Assist in software and hardware maintenance.

5. Research and Statistics Officer

  • Conduct research and data analysis on agricultural trends.
  • Prepare statistical reports for policy and decision-making.
  • Maintain and update data management systems.

6. Legal Officer

  • Provide legal support and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Draft contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Offer legal advice on corporate matters.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings when necessary.

7. Supply Chain Officer

  • Oversee procurement and supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage vendor relationships and inventory control.

8. Internal Auditor

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with financial and operational policies.
  • Identify risks and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare audit reports for management review.

9. Corporate Communication Officer

  • Manage public relations and corporate branding.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Handle media relations and stakeholder engagement.

10. Human Resource Officer

  • Implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee records and coordinate HR functions.
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management.

11. Senior Assistant Legal Officer II

  • Assist in providing legal counsel and compliance monitoring.
  • Prepare legal documentation and support litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.

12. Senior Assistant Supply Chain Officer II

  • Support procurement and logistics functions.
  • Ensure proper inventory and asset management.
  • Maintain supply chain documentation and compliance.

13. Senior Assistant Administration Officer II

  • Assist in overseeing administrative operations.
  • Maintain office systems and coordinate support services.
  • Supervise staff and office resources.

14. Senior Customer Care Assistant II

  • Manage customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Provide information on AFA services and policies.
  • Maintain customer service records and databases.

15. Senior Assistant Accountant II

  • Support financial reporting and accounting functions.
  • Assist in processing transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

16. Driver II

  • Transport staff and official documents safely.
  • Maintain vehicle logbooks and ensure timely servicing.
  • Adhere to traffic regulations and safety protocols.
