Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) Job Vacancies – February 2025
The Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019. The Agency is responsible for promoting and implementing Kenya’s Nuclear Power Programme, conducting research and development for the energy sector, and facilitating capacity building. To achieve this mandate, NuPEA engages in policy development, public education, site identification for nuclear power plants, and technological research.
NuPEA is seeking dynamic, self-driven, and results-oriented professionals of high integrity to fill the following positions:
1. Director, Information, Advocacy and Communication (Grade NuPEA 2)

Job Description:
- Develop and implement strategic communication policies and advocacy initiatives.
- Oversee public education, stakeholder engagement, and brand positioning.
- Supervise media relations, public relations, and corporate social responsibility programs.
- Ensure effective dissemination of information and awareness campaigns on nuclear energy.
- Manage crisis communication and respond to public concerns regarding nuclear energy.
- Lead a team of communication professionals to enhance the agency’s visibility and credibility.
2. Manager, Supply Chain (Grade NuPEA 3)

Job Description:
- Oversee procurement planning, sourcing, and contract management in compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop and enforce supply chain policies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier performance, vendor relationships, and inventory management.
- Ensure adherence to procurement best practices and transparency.
- Lead supply chain risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
3. Senior Legal Officer (Grade NuPEA 5)

Job Description:
- Provide legal advisory services to the agency on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Represent the agency in legal proceedings and liaise with external legal counsel.
- Ensure adherence to government regulations, energy laws, and constitutional provisions.
- Handle litigation, dispute resolution, and corporate governance matters.
4. Internal Auditor (Grade NuPEA 6)

Job Description:
- Conduct internal audits and assess financial risks and controls.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and operational procedures.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial integrity and accountability.
- Prepare audit reports for management and relevant oversight bodies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of fraud prevention mechanisms.
5. Assistant Office Administrator (Grade NuPEA 7)
Job Ref. No: NuPEA/AOA/01/01/2025
Job Description:
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining office records.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and official documentation.
- Coordinate logistics for office operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Handle front office duties, customer service, and internal communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Other Requirements
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present the following clearance certificates in compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010:
- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
- Clearance from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
