Compliance Officer

Location: Braeburn

Braeburn Schools Limited is looking for a proactive and experienced Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and oversee a robust compliance management framework. Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, this role will ensure that BSL adheres to national and international laws, accreditation standards, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will also play a pivotal role in risk management, policy development, and compliance training across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and periodically review the organization’s compliance framework, covering educational regulations (both national and international), child protection and safeguarding, data privacy (GDPR and local data protection laws), health and safety, employment law, accreditation standards, contractual obligations, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor compliance adherence through audits, assessments, and compliance status reports.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, developing contingency plans and maintaining a compliance risk register.
  • Conduct due diligence on third-party vendors and partners to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Support policy development, review, and implementation across BSL.
  • Design and deliver training programs on compliance and risk management topics.
  • Conduct investigations into compliance violations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide support in accreditation processes and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Stay updated with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards to keep the organization compliant.

Experience and Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Management/Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) are an advantage.
  • 5-7 years of experience in compliance and risk management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging training programs.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to promoting a culture of compliance.

School Counsellor

Location: Braeburn

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to support the mental well-being of our students and provide guidance on academic, social, and personal matters. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive school environment that enhances student development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, personal, and social challenges.
  • Develop and implement well-being programs that support students’ emotional and psychological health.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to identify students needing additional support.
  • Create strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, and behavioral challenges.
  • Mediate conflicts among students and provide conflict resolution strategies.
  • Support students through career guidance and academic planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Stay updated on best practices in school counseling and mental health support.

Experience and Competencies Required:

  • A degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Certification in counseling is an advantage.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in school counseling or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Experience in designing and implementing student well-being programs.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
