Position: Security Controller

Job Purpose:
The Security Controller will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the functionality of surveillance and other security equipment installed at the hospital. The role aims to safeguard the physical and technical security of staff, patients, clients, and hospital property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide protective and communication support for hospital operations by effectively manning the Control Room.
- Monitor all electronic security systems to detect security breaches, potential threats, abandoned items, fire hazards, equipment malfunctions, and unlocked security doors, among other irregularities.
- Maintain, archive, and retrieve CCTV video footage and other security system data for investigation and analysis purposes.
- Manage access control systems, including issuing access cards and visitor passes upon approval by the security supervisor, and maintaining records.
- Observe and report suspicious activity or incidents to the appropriate authorities and initiate incident response via radio or other communication channels.
- Monitor intruder alarm systems and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems while coordinating response efforts with security teams.
- Oversee the operational readiness of all Control Room and security communication equipment.
- Handle data storage, management, and confidentiality in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on local and global news reports and notify hospital staff of any potential security risks affecting their safety or duties.
- Receive and escalate customer complaints to the Duty Officer for resolution.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Information Science, Security Management, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Social Science, or any relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the specified fields.
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or national police service will be an added advantage.
- Specialized training in CCTV monitoring and Control Room operations is required.
