About the Position
In an effort to promote sustainable farming and environmental conservation, local landowners in Nyakach, Agoro East have dedicated 50.90 acres of communal land for permaculture-based aggregated farms. To ensure the safety of farm components and infrastructure, we are seeking a Temporary Security Guard to provide security until the project is officially handed over to the community.
Key Responsibilities
As a Temporary Security Guard, your role will include:
- Guarding the Aggregated Farms: Ensuring security by monitoring the entire fenced area on a rotational day and night shift.
- Patrolling the Premises: Conducting inspections at the start and end of each shift to identify potential security threats.
- Monitoring Entry and Exit Points: Checking the identification of landowners, project teams, visitors, and vehicles before granting access.
- Preventing Loss or Damage: Safeguarding farm components, equipment, and infrastructure from theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
- Reporting Incidents: Submitting weekly security reports to the Community Project Committee and Field Assistant.
- Responding to Security Emergencies: Taking immediate action in case of disturbances, trespassing, or threats to farm security.
- Providing Additional Support: Assisting in any other security-related duties necessary for the smooth operation of the aggregated farms.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a Kenyan National Identification Card.
- Minimum of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
- Must be at least 18 years of age, physically and mentally fit, and in good health.
- Must be a community-selected and fronted individual for the role.
- Must have a good moral character and reputation within the community.
- Must provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Must have a recommendation letter from the Chief.
