Job Objective
The Digital Learning Programmer will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining digital learning resources to ensure an optimal e-learning experience for students and faculty. The successful candidate will work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and IT teams to deliver engaging, high-quality digital education solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and curate digital learning materials, including e-learning modules, online courses, and interactive simulations.
- Provide technical support to students and lecturers to ensure seamless access and use of digital learning platforms.
- Administer and maintain Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, and Canvas.
- Train faculty and staff on digital learning technologies and provide ongoing support.
- Analyze data from digital learning platforms to enhance and tailor learning experiences.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in digital learning and integrate them into the university’s digital education offerings.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and IT teams to create comprehensive digital learning experiences.
- Ensure that all digital learning programs comply with educational standards and quality assurance guidelines.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or as outlined in the detailed job description.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field from a recognized/accredited university.
- At least two years of experience in training design and the creation of blended learning solutions for both instructor-led and self-paced training.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development tools.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, and Canvas.
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- At least two years of experience in instructional design (preferred).
- Experience using tools like InDesign, Video Scribe, and OT.
- Evidence of membership in a relevant professional body.
