Kisii County Government Hiring Chairperson/Secretary

The Kisii County Government, through the Office of the Governor and the County Public Service Board, is inviting applications from suitably qualified, result-oriented, and motivated Kenyan citizens for appointment to the following positions. These roles offer a great opportunity to contribute to the county’s governance and service delivery in line with the County Governments Act, Revised Edition 2020.

Available Positions

1. Chairperson – Kisii County Public Service Board (1 Post)

Job Ref No.: KSI/OGVN/2024/2
Tenure: Contract
Remuneration: As prescribed by the Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC)

Responsibilities:

  • Chair meetings of the County Public Service Board.
  • Guide the board in disciplinary matters and removal of public service officers.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the County Assembly.
  • Promote the values and principles of public service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
  • Advise the County Government on human resource management and development.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county.
  • Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission on remuneration matters for county public service employees.

2. Secretary – County Public Service Board (1 Post)

Tenure: Contract
Remuneration: As prescribed by the Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC)

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Accounting and Authorized Officer of the Board.
  • Oversee the operations of the Board’s Secretariat.
  • Plan and budget for Board activities.
  • Maintain official records, assets, and minutes of the Board.
  • Communicate Board decisions effectively.
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports for submission to the County Assembly.
  • Develop meeting agendas in consultation with the Chairperson and take minutes during meetings.
  • Oversee staff performance and reward management programs.
  • Develop programs and strategies necessary for achieving the Board’s mandate.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Board.

How to Apply

Interested candidates must submit the following documents as per Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010:

  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • A Credit Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

(a) Applications should include a copy of the National ID or Passport, a detailed CV, copies of all relevant certificates (including transcripts), testimonials, and other supporting documents. (b) Clearly indicate the position applied for on the top of the envelope.
