Key Responsibilities:
As a Programme Management Intern, your role will involve supporting the GEF Coordination Office’s programmatic functions. The duties include:
- Project Planning and Implementation: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of environmental projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and objectives. Your work will also involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the projects’ success.
- Data Analysis and Evaluation: Utilize analytical tools to carry out data analysis, cleaning, and processing. Assist in preparing reports for project evaluation, offering recommendations for improvement and identifying lessons learned.
- GEF Portfolio Disclosure: Contribute to the GEF Portfolio disclosure on major platforms such as UNEP Open Data and the GEF Portal, ensuring the information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Internal Processes Support: Help manage the internal project registry, assist with follow-ups, and respond to requests for data related to the GEF portfolio. You will work closely with team members to gather necessary information and prepare responses.
- Communication and Outreach: Support communication efforts and engage with external partners and the public to promote UNEP’s initiatives and projects. You will assist in creating awareness about UNEP’s environmental goals.
- Focal Area Monitoring: Work with the five GEF Focal Areas to track potential issues, proactively resolve challenges, and ensure timely submission of all required reports.
