Braeburn Schools Limited (BSL) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance management framework. Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, this role will ensure adherence to national and international laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies while fostering a culture of compliance throughout our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review the company’s compliance management framework, ensuring alignment with educational regulations, child protection and safeguarding policies, data privacy laws (GDPR, local data protection regulations), health and safety protocols, employment laws, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor compliance, conduct audits and assessments, and prepare reports on compliance status.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, maintaining a compliance risk register.
- Conduct due diligence on third-party vendors and partners.
- Support policy development, review, and training programs on compliance and risk management.
- Oversee investigations of compliance violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Support accreditation processes and stay updated on regulatory changes.
Experience and Competencies Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Management/Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) are an advantage.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in compliance and risk management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of national and international laws, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent risk assessment, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
- Strong project management skills.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance.
