Available Positions


1. Senior Superintending Engineer (Civil) – CPSB 06

Number of Posts: 2
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 58,360 – Ksh 90,200 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create technical drawings as per work requests.
  • Ensure housekeeping and maintenance of work areas adhere to safety standards.
  • Oversee the servicing and maintenance of equipment and tools to operational standards.
  • Raise purchase requests and verify the accuracy of materials and equipment.
  • Plan and carry out maintenance on cooling towers, roads, buildings, and other civil structures.
  • Review internal project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions and material requirements.
  • Monitor system performance and suggest improvements and modifications as needed.
  • Prepare technical specifications and estimates for the tendering process.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Served in the grade of Engineer (Civil) or a comparable and relevant position for a minimum of three (3) years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya and a valid annual Practicing License.
  • Membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
  • Certificate in computer application skills.

2. Architect – CPSB 08

Number of Posts: 2
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 44,400 – Ksh 61,110 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sketch designs and production drawings.
  • Interpret client requirements and convert them into architectural designs.
  • Disseminate research findings and promote innovative processes and materials technology.
  • Ensure effective post-contract administration.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Certificate in computer application skills.

3. Superintendent (Buildings) – CPSB 09

Number of Posts: 6
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as Clerk of Works for buildings under construction or Supervisor of maintenance works.
  • Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and compare with on-site work.
  • Supervise artisans during repair and alteration of buildings.
  • Prepare cost estimates and material schedules.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Served in the grade of Senior Inspector (Buildings) or a comparable position for at least three (3) years.
  • Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering, Construction Technician Part III, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

4. Principal Physical Planner – CPSB 06

Number of Posts: 2
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 58,360 – Ksh 90,200 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and monitor the implementation of county and local physical development plans.
  • Provide advisory services on development proposals and plans.
  • Organize and maintain records of physical planning liaison committee meetings.
  • Prepare annual state reports on physical development plans.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Served as Chief Physical Planner or in a comparable position for at least three (3) years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, or Town Planning.
  • Membership with Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya.
  • Certificate in computer application skills.

5. Physical Planner – CPSB 09

Number of Posts: 2
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare physical development plans.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on physical, social, and environmental characteristics.
  • Maintain physical planning records.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, or Town Planning.
  • Membership with the Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya.
  • Certificate in computer applications.

6. GIS Expert/Cartographer – CPSB 09

Number of Posts: 2
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draw survey and cadastral plans, registry index maps, and boundary schedules.
  • Prepare topographical base maps for special purposes.
  • Revise base maps using aerial imagery.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geo-informatics, Geospatial Information Science, or equivalent.
  • Certificate in computer application skills.

7. Valuer – CPSB 09

Number of Posts: 1
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze market data for valuation purposes.
  • Participate in Stamp Duty valuation and apportioning rents.
  • Conduct searches on land titles for valuation purposes.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, or Property Studies.
  • Membership with the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK).
  • Certificate in computer application skills.
