  • Regreening for the Future Project
  • Sustainable Food Systems Project
  • Alale Anti-FGM Project

Community Mobilizer – Regreening for the Future Project

The Regreening for the Future Project focuses on environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihoods. As a Community Mobilizer, you will collaborate with stakeholders to implement community-centered interventions that promote environmental sustainability and climate-smart practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with relevant partners at the county and community levels to ensure effective implementation of research project interventions.
  • Conduct participatory assessments to inform research design.
  • Facilitate community planning sessions to develop adaptation pathway strategies.
  • Participate in preparing various project reports, including situational, workshop, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.

Community Engagement:

  • Build relationships with local leaders, county governments, and stakeholders to foster community ownership of the project.
  • Organize and mobilize community meetings and events, ensuring effective logistics management and participation.

Technical Support:

  • Support the design of frameworks for adaptation pathways in regreening community processes.
  • Facilitate community-level technical working groups for project integration.
  • Conduct capacity needs assessments to determine training requirements for key stakeholders.
  • Promote climate-smart practices and sustainable livelihoods among community members.
  • Prepare reports on community engagement, awareness campaigns, and project beneficiary selection processes.
  • Support data collection activities, including community scoping and baseline data collection.
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of stakeholder meeting actions and referrals.

Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation, and Documentation:

  • Monitor project implementation to ensure alignment with community needs and project goals.
  • Organize and support monitoring visits to project intervention sites.
  • Develop community feedback systems to document and address emerging needs.
  • Prepare weekly updates, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual progress reports.
  • Track project progress against the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework.

Strategic Engagement, Partnership, and Networking:

  • Represent World Vision Kenya in key stakeholder forums at ward, sub-county, and county levels.
  • Facilitate linkages of community groups to relevant networks for capacity building.
  • Strengthen partnerships with county governments and other organizations to support community sustainability initiatives.


Community Mobilizer – Sustainable Food Systems Project

This project aims to enhance sustainable food systems through integrated livelihoods and resilience interventions. As a Community Mobilizer, you will work with local communities to promote food security, financial literacy, and climate-smart agricultural practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with the Project Officer to review implementation tools and initiate innovative approaches for project success.
  • Coordinate sector integration interventions for Livelihood and Resilience (L&R) implementation.
  • Develop and implement activity work plans and budgets for county-specific activities.
  • Ensure adherence to business processes, standards, and guidelines for L&R initiatives.

Technical Support:

  • Support the Project Officer in timely project implementation.
  • Mobilize farmers for risk-reducing assets like soil and water conservation practices (e.g., Zai pits, terraces, sunken beds).
  • Promote drought-tolerant crops and indexed-based crop insurance for long-term resilience.
  • Facilitate the creation and strengthening of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs).
  • Conduct capacity building on financial literacy, health, and sustainable value chain development.

Quality Assurance – Monitoring, Evaluation, and Documentation:

  • Document project lessons and impacts to facilitate adoption.
  • Organize county-level workshops to share best practices for adoption by stakeholders.
  • Support project assessment, monitoring, and data collection for crop insurance and premium tracking.
  • Develop quality reports, success stories, and lessons learned as per WFP and World Vision Kenya guidelines.

Capacity Building:

  • Mobilize and empower community members for sustainability.
  • Build farmers’ capacity in VSLA, financial literacy, health, and climate-smart practices.
  • Support community resource persons to lead project implementation.

Advocacy, Engagement, Partnership, and Networking:

  • Represent World Vision Kenya in key forums at Ward, Sub-County, and County levels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for effective project interventions.
  • Organize peer-to-peer learning meetings with government and community stakeholders.


Community Mobilizer – Alale Anti-FGM Project

The Alale Anti-FGM Project focuses on advocating for the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriages. The role involves community mobilization, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement to promote child protection and gender equality.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Mobilize and sustain community, government, and partner participation in Anti-FGM interventions.
  • Facilitate the formation of gender transformational groups to advocate against FGM and child marriages.
  • Build the capacity of men, boys, and CSOs as champions of change.
  • Train community members on child rights and gender-based violence prevention and response.
  • Support local organizations to engage in policy advocacy and budget allocation for human rights protection.

Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation, and Documentation:

  • Train change agents and survivors in data collection and analysis for advocacy.
  • Collaborate with partners to conduct monitoring visits and evaluations.
  • Compile activity reports, weekly plans, and annual reports for the Project Officer.

Strategic Engagement, Partnership, and Networking:

  • Build relationships with government, faith-based organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Organize human rights campaign events and advocate for safe spaces for survivors.
  • Facilitate community meetings to empower local surveillance, reporting, and referral mechanisms.
