About the Role

As a Direct Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in driving the Sacco’s growth by acquiring new members, retaining existing ones, and promoting our products and services. Your primary responsibility will be to generate leads, enroll new members, and effectively communicate the benefits of our financial solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Present, Promote, and Sell Products
    • Effectively communicate the value and benefits of the Sacco’s products to both existing and prospective members.
    • Utilize persuasive communication techniques to convert leads into active members.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the product offerings to answer inquiries and provide accurate information to potential members.
  2. Lead Generation, Member Enrollment, and Onboarding
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various lead generation strategies.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new members by assisting them with the necessary documentation and ensuring a seamless experience.
    • Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop and implement strategic sales plans.
  3. Promote Sacco Products and Services
    • Actively promote the full suite of Sacco products, including savings accounts, loans, investment opportunities, and other financial solutions.
    • Develop a strong understanding of member needs and tailor product recommendations accordingly.
    • Foster trust and credibility with members by delivering consistent and high-quality customer service.
  4. Sales Presentations and Product Demonstrations
    • Conduct engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the unique features and benefits of Sacco offerings.
    • Utilize visual aids, presentations, and other marketing materials to enhance the effectiveness of product demonstrations.
    • Adapt presentation styles to cater to different audience types, ensuring a personalized approach.
  5. Cross-Selling and Upselling Opportunities
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional products and services to existing members based on their financial needs.
    • Collaborate with team members to develop targeted marketing campaigns aimed at increasing product penetration among current members.
    • Monitor customer feedback and market trends to identify new cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  6. Achieving Sales Targets and Outcomes
    • Deliver the agreed sales targets and outcomes within the set timelines.
    • Regularly track and report sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
    • Demonstrate a results-oriented approach to achieving personal and team sales goals.
  7. Coordinate Sales Efforts and Activations
    • Coordinate sales activities with other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective approach.
    • Participate in promotional events, activations, and community engagement activities to increase brand visibility and attract potential members.
    • Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  8. Other Duties as Assigned
    • Take on additional tasks as required to support the overall success of the Business Development department.
    • Remain adaptable and flexible to changing business needs and priorities.

What We Are Looking For

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Educational Background: Minimum of KCSE/Certificate in any field.
  • Experience: Proven work experience of at least 2 years as a sales representative, preferably in a Sacco, Bank, or Microfinance environment.
  • Sales Expertise: Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience’s needs.
  • Relationship Management: Strong relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to coordinate sales efforts with team members and work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to take on additional duties as needed and adapt to changing business requirements.
