1. Graduate Engineer, SCADA Telecommunication – (KET 6)

Reporting to: Senior Engineer – SCADA & Telecommunications
Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for testing, commissioning, and maintaining Substation Automation and SCADA Systems across all KETRACO substations. The position ensures effective monitoring and control of substations both locally and from the National Control Centre in Nairobi while supporting data analysis, decision-making, and ensuring 99.99% system availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Graduate Engineers and Technicians during operation and maintenance of Telecommunication systems.
- Review designs for substation Telecommunication, CCTV, and Access Control Systems.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of new Telecommunication Systems equipment.
- Prepare specifications for Telecommunication equipment and systems in line with approved policies.
- Participate in commissioning, operation, and maintenance of CCTV, Access Control, and Wide Area Network systems across all KETRACO substations and repeater stations.
- Supervise substation Telecommunication, CCTV, and Access Control System projects, including testing and commissioning activities.
- Support operation and maintenance of Power Systems Telecommunication Networks and Multiplexer Systems to enable efficient monitoring and control of substations and repeater stations.
- Issue and receive Safety Electrical Permits to work and Limitation of Access.
- Prepare reports on Telecommunication works.
Working Conditions:

- Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
