Position Summary: Business Development Manager – Deal Advisory
KPMG Deal Advisory is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager who will play a strategic role in supporting the Business Development Senior Manager to drive the growth and success of our team. This role involves developing and executing business development strategies, identifying growth opportunities, and building strong client relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Project Finance, Transaction Advisory, and Corporate Finance concepts and processes. They will leverage their strategic insights to manage business development pipelines, coordinate proposals, and contribute to thought leadership within the industry.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
As the Business Development Manager – Deal Advisory, your key roles and responsibilities will include:
Strategic Business Development
- Provide strategic advice on target markets, client segmentation, and value proposition to enhance business growth.
- Identify and evaluate potential partnerships and collaborations to expand KPMG’s reach and drive new business opportunities.
- Manage the business development pipeline, ensuring consistent tracking of leads, opportunities, and strategic engagements.
- Coordinate proposals for opportunity managers and directors, adhering to standardized pursuit workflows to enhance efficiency.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, alliance partners, and other stakeholders to foster long-term business engagements.
- Assist in preparing and leading client presentations, proposals, and other business development materials to effectively communicate KPMG’s value proposition.
- Lead in the implementation of client and industry events, maximizing KPMG’s brand visibility and engagement in relevant sectors.
Thought Leadership and Market Insights
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of thought leadership content, including articles, whitepapers, and case studies, to enhance KPMG’s industry influence.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential clients within the Deal Advisory ecosystem.
- Monitor industry publications, news, and regulatory changes to stay updated on market developments and proactively leverage market intelligence.
Reporting and Strategic Insights
- Develop periodic reports using data gathered to inform strategic business decisions at local, regional, and global levels.
- Provide insights and recommendations to prioritize opportunities and optimize resource allocation, ensuring effective strategic planning.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with KPMG’s quality, risk, and management requirements, maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.
- Participate in and contribute to firm, function, business unit, sector, and service level meetings to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Any other tasks as assigned to support the growth and development of the Deal Advisory team.
Academic/Professional Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this position, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA), advanced degree, or professional qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, strategy, or marketing, ideally within the professional services industry.
- Experience working in a Big Four firm or a similar professional services organization is highly preferred.
- A strong understanding of Project Finance, Transaction Advisory, and Corporate Finance concepts and processes, as well as knowledge of key market players and the transactions landscape.
