1. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Development) – Maseno University

Job Overview:

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance, and Development) at Maseno University is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor. The role is responsible for providing innovative and creative leadership in planning, financial, human resource, and physical resource management to ensure efficient performance and service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in financial, human resource, and physical resource management.
  • Oversee the implementation of fiscal and administrative policies to ensure efficiency in the University.
  • Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the University budget, financial statements, and management reports.
  • Advise the Vice Chancellor on human resource policies, developments, and management.
  • Oversee construction projects and maintain relations with public and political authorities.
  • Coordinate estate management and physical planning of the University.
  • Mobilize and solicit financial support for university programs and development.
  • Ensure efficient performance management systems within the University.
  • Maintain order and discipline among employees.
  • Establish internal control systems for compliance with proper accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

Terms of Service:

  • Basic Salary: Ksh 416,000 – Ksh 555,800 per month
  • House Allowance: Ksh 80,000
  • Leave Allowance and Medical Cover: As provided by the University
  • Contract: Five (5) years renewable once, subject to satisfactory performance

Job Overview:

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Partnership, Research, and Innovations) is responsible for driving the research, innovation, and partnership agenda of Maseno University. The role focuses on fostering collaborations, enhancing research outputs, and driving innovations that contribute to national development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote and coordinate research, scientific publications, innovations, extension, outreach activities, and technology transfer.
  • Mobilize and solicit financial support for research and other programs.
  • Maintain collaborations and linkages with local and international institutions.
  • Coordinate university-wide research, consultancies, innovation, and outreach activities.
  • Develop and implement intellectual property rights and oversee partnerships.
  • Ensure efficient and effective operation of research, innovations, and outreach departments.
  • Coordinate research funds mobilization and logistical support for research activities.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and symposia.
  • Oversee research benchmarking for global visibility and scholar exchange.
  • Ensure excellence in research, innovations, and outreach functions within the University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
