Department of Health Services

1. Medical Laboratory Technologist III (25 Positions)

Reference: MCPSB/MOH/2025/02/01
Remuneration: Consolidated amount of Ksh. 50,000 per month
Terms of Service: Contract for three (3) years

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing general diagnostic and other laboratory services in a medical laboratory.
  • Delivering blood transfusion services.
  • Mentoring and coaching students on attachment.
  • Performing administrative duties as required.
  • Carrying out any other duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College or any recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board as a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist.
  • At least one year of experience in a busy hospital environment.
  • Computer skills will be an added advantage.

Department of Revenue Services

2. Revenue Clerks (73 Positions) Job Group ‘E’

Reference: MCPSB/MOF/2025/02/02
Terms of Service: Permanent and pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing information about fees, charges, and payment options to the public.
  • Processing and filing documents related to revenue collection, including receipts and payment confirmations.
  • Ensuring all documentation complies with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assisting customers with inquiries regarding revenue services and procedures.
  • Collecting market cess and other revenues.
  • Analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement in revenue collection.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records and generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports on revenue collection.
  • Banking revenue collections on a daily basis.
  • Surrendering collections to the receiving cashier daily and ensuring receipt books are surrendered after completion.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan citizenship.
  • Minimum qualification of ‘D+’ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
  • Certificate in any field, preferably related to Finance, Administration, or other Social Sciences.
  • At least one year of experience as a revenue collector in a busy department, either in the private or public sector.
  • Physical and medical fitness, with no criminal record or pending criminal charges.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in computer applications.

Department of ICT & E-Government

3. Information Communication Technology Officer II/Fiber Technician (2 Positions) Job Group ‘J’

Reference: MCPSB/MOF/2025/02/03
Terms of Service: Permanent and pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining Fiber Optics FTTH networks.
  • Repairing and resolving fiber optic system issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Splicing and terminating SM fiber.
  • Conducting basic to complex installations, troubleshooting, and repairs of fiber systems.
  • Accessing fiber optic splice enclosures and performing necessary splicing from a bucket truck.
  • Conducting fiber tests including OTDR, power meter/laser source, and scopes.
  • Installing demarcation enclosures, switches, and other telecom equipment.
  • Monitoring, communicating, and performing corrective actions to fix issues affecting fiber or related equipment.
  • Preparing cables, splicing, connecting, and installing fiber optic cabinets.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related ICT fields.
  • Recent experience in Fiber Installation, including pulling and terminating fiber cabling.
  • Proficiency in fusion splicing/terminations and fiber optic test and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read splicing matrix and design drawings.

4. Information Communication Technology Officer I/System Developer (1 Position) Job Group ‘K’

Reference: MCPSB/MOF/2025/02/04
Terms of Service: Permanent and pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues to optimize performance.
  • Conducting program testing (Unit testing, Integrated testing, and Acceptance testing).
  • Developing new user-facing features and enhancing application speed and scalability.
  • Collaborating with team members, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable code.
  • Ensuring validation of all user input before submission to the back-end.
  • Bridging the gap between graphic design and technical implementation.
  • Assisting other frontend and backend developers with debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Translating UI/UX design wireframes and mockups into actual code and features.
  • Maintaining code quality and implementing code linters and unit tests.
  • Collaborating with DevOps engineers to create, implement, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for web applications.
  • Documenting feature implementation, releases, and workflows.
  • Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and promoting usability best practices.

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related ICT fields.
  • At least two years of experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
  • Technical knowledge in ICT Infrastructure and software development, including proficiency in Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Circle CI, TravisCI, and Jenkins.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for learning new technology stacks.
