- Programme Officer II (Grade NGEC 7)

All positions are permanent and pensionable, with duty stations at our Headquarters and Regional Offices. Detailed job descriptions for each role are provided below.
1. Programme Officer I – NGEC Scale 6

Remuneration (Basic Salary): Ksh. 105,981.00 – 157,495.00
Leave Allowance: As existing in the Commission

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Officer I will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of gender equality programs. The main responsibilities include:
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies on issues of gender mainstreaming, children, youth, persons with disability, elderly, and marginalized groups.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure gender considerations are integrated into national policies and programs.
- Funding and Technical Support:
- Providing input in the development of funding proposals and technical briefings to support program activities.
- Engaging with donors and partners to secure funding for gender equality initiatives.
- Work Planning and Budgeting:
- Assisting in the development of work plans and budget allocation to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Monitoring program budgets and providing timely financial reports.
- Advocacy and Communication:
- Supporting advocacy campaigns to promote gender equality and non-discrimination.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and communication materials to raise awareness on gender issues.
2. Programme Officer II – NGEC Scale 7

Remuneration (Basic Salary): Ksh. 78,622 – 118,486.00

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Officer II will support the implementation of programs aimed at promoting gender equality and inclusion. The primary duties include:
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Working with stakeholders to mainstream issues on gender, women, youth, persons with disability, minorities, marginalized groups, the elderly, and children into the national development process.
- Facilitating capacity-building initiatives for community groups and partners.
- Concept Development and Reporting:
- Developing concept papers, technical briefs, and reports on program activities.
- Providing regular updates on program progress and challenges to the senior management team.
- Program Coordination and Support:
- Assisting in coordinating program activities, including workshops, seminars, and public awareness campaigns.
- Ensuring effective communication and coordination between the HQ and regional offices.
- Research and Policy Analysis:
- Conducting research to support evidence-based advocacy on gender equality and non-discrimination.
- Analyzing policies and legislation to ensure alignment with gender equality standards.
3. Office Assistant III – NGEC Scale 10

Remuneration (Basic Salary): Ksh. 31,420 – 44,615.00

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office Assistant III will provide essential support services to ensure the smooth operation of the office environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Cleaning offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus to maintain a hygienic working environment.
- Cleaning the kitchen and preparing tea for staff and visitors.
- Maintaining general cleanliness around the offices by collecting and disposing of litter.
- Ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness in office facilities.
- Administrative Support:
- Carrying out photocopying and binding of documents as required.
- Dusting office furniture, equipment, and surfaces to maintain a neat workspace.
- Moving or carrying office equipment and furniture to ensure efficient office arrangement.
- Mail and Delivery Services:
- Dispatching letters and documents to relevant departments or external stakeholders.
- Assisting in the receipt and distribution of office supplies and deliveries.
- General Assistance:
- Providing support during meetings and events, including setting up meeting rooms.
- Assisting staff with minor office tasks as needed.
