1.Adjunct Lecturer – Multimedia Journalism

USIU-Africa is looking for ideal candidates will have expertise in print, radio, television, podcasting, and mobile journalism, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical training in multimedia journalism.
  • Design and update curricula to align with industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and research in print, radio, TV, podcasting, and mobile journalism.
  • Provide mentorship and career guidance to students pursuing media-related careers.
  • Engage in scholarly research, publications, and professional development activities.
  • Establish partnerships with media organizations for student exposure and hands-on training.
  • Contribute to the department’s strategic initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. or a Master’s in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of industry experience in print, radio, TV, podcasting, or mobile journalism.
  • Strong understanding of multimedia storytelling, digital tools, and emerging media trends.
  • Proficiency in multimedia production software, audio/video editing tools, and content management systems.
  • Experience in curriculum development and higher education teaching.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A track record of research, publications, or professional contributions to the media industry is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of data journalism, AI in media, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience in investigative journalism, media ethics, or media entrepreneurship.

2. Adjunct Lecturer- Multimedia Design and Digital Communication

USIU-Africa is looking for passionate and experienced lecturers to join our faculty in Multimedia Design and Digital Communication. The ideal candidate will have expertise in graphic design, digital storytelling, motion graphics, UI/UX design, interactive media, and digital marketing communication, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical training in multimedia design and digital communication.
  • Design and update curricula to reflect current industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and research in areas such as digital branding, social media content creation, and interactive media.
  • Provide mentorship and career guidance to students pursuing creative and digital media careers.
  • Conduct scholarly research, contribute to publications, and participate in professional development activities.
  • Foster partnerships with creative agencies, tech firms, and media organizations for student exposure and industry collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Figma, or other digital design tools.
  • Strong understanding of digital communication strategies, user experience (UX) design, and interactive media trends.
  • Experience in curriculum development and higher education teaching.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A track record of research, publications, or professional contributions to the creative industry is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of animation, AR/VR, or 3D design.

3. Adjunct Lecturer – Digital Communication and Corporate Communication

USIU-Africa is looking for a highly skilled and experienced adjunct lecturers to join our faculty in Digital Communication and Corporate Communication. The ideal candidate will have expertise in strategic communication, digital public relations, corporate branding, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement in the digital era, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, and industry collaboration.

  • Proficiency in communication analytics, digital media tools, and content management systems.
  • Experience in curriculum development and higher education teaching.

  • A track record of research, publications, or professional contributions to the communication industry is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

4. Adjunct Lecturers – Audio-Visual and Sound Engineering

USIU-Africa is looking for dedicated and experienced Adjunct Lecturers to join our faculty in teaching Audio-Visual and Sound Engineering. The ideal candidate will have expertise in sound design, audio production, acoustics, live sound engineering, video production, and multimedia post-production, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and hands-on training in audio-visual production and sound engineering.
  • Design and update curricula to reflect advancements in audio technology, video production, and digital sound processing.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and research in audio recording, mixing, mastering, and sound design for film, television, and digital media.
  • Provide mentorship and career guidance to students pursuing careers in media production, music production, and sound engineering.
  • Conduct scholarly research, contribute to publications, and engage in professional development activities.

  • At least 3-5 years of industry experience in audio-visual production, sound engineering, or media technology.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Strong understanding of audio signal processing, acoustics, and sound reinforcement for live and recorded media.
  • Experience in curriculum development and higher education teaching.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A track record of research, publications, or professional contributions to the media industry is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in immersive audio formats (Dolby Atmos, binaural audio, 3D sound design).
  • Experience with live broadcasting, podcast production, and audio-visual storytelling.
  • Ability to integrate AI, automation, and emerging technologies in sound production and engineering.

5. Multimedia Journalism Technician

USIU-Africa is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Multimedia Journalism Technician to support our journalism faculty and students in the production of high-quality multimedia content. The ideal candidate will have expertise in broadcast equipment operation, video and audio production, digital content creation, and newsroom technology, ensuring seamless technical support for teaching, research, and student projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, set up, and operate multimedia equipment, including cameras, lighting, microphones, editing suites, and newsroom software.
  • Provide technical support for journalism courses, assisting students and faculty with video production, podcasting, live streaming, and mobile journalism.
  • Troubleshoot and repair audiovisual equipment and software to ensure smooth classroom and studio operations.
  • Manage and maintain the institution’s radio, TV, and multimedia labs, ensuring accessibility and functionality.
  • Train students and faculty in the use of industry-standard software and hardware for content production.
  • Assist in live broadcasts, field reporting setups, and post-production tasks.
  • Stay updated on emerging multimedia journalism tools and recommend upgrades or new technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Journalism, Broadcast Technology, Digital Media Production, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in multimedia production, technical support, or broadcast operations.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and audio production tools (Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity).
  • Hands-on experience with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio mixers, live streaming platforms, and newsroom software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in audiovisual systems, IT networking, and media servers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in mobile journalism (MoJo) tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) and web content management.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven media tools and automated content production.
