Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 71,500 – Kshs 140,500 per month
House Allowance: Kshs. 20,000

Job Specification
The Trainer at BMA Driving School will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs in alignment with the provisions of Legal Notice No. 233 of 28th November 2018, and other relevant International Conventions and National Legislation related to training on cargo handling equipment. The Trainer will play a critical role in developing students’ skills and competencies necessary for a successful career in the maritime transport industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in the following areas:
- Designing, Developing, and Delivering Training Programmes:
- Develop effective and comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of students in maritime transport operations.
- Ensure the delivery of training programs is in line with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning experiences and outcomes.
- Development of Maritime Transport Operations Training Policies:
- Collaborate with the senior trainer and other stakeholders to develop and implement training policies that comply with international maritime regulations.
- Continuously review and update training policies to reflect the changing dynamics of the maritime industry.
- Curriculum Development and Review:
- Develop and review the curriculum to ensure it is relevant, up-to-date, and aligns with the latest industry practices and technological advancements.
- Incorporate feedback from students and industry experts to enhance the curriculum.
- Developing the School Calendar and Time Tabling:
- Plan and organize the school calendar, including course schedules, practical sessions, and examinations.
- Ensure the timetable accommodates all students and optimizes resource utilization.
- Development and Evaluation of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Materials:
- Create engaging teaching materials and resources to support the delivery of training programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and assessment materials and make necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes.
- Supervising Trainees’ Practical Sessions:
- Oversee practical training sessions to ensure students acquire hands-on experience in operating cargo handling equipment.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions to enhance their technical skills.
- Marking Internal Examinations:
- Prepare and administer internal examinations to assess students’ knowledge and skills.
- Mark and grade examination papers in a fair and transparent manner.
- Maintaining Students’ Attendance and Performance Records:
- Monitor students’ attendance and maintain accurate records of their performance and progress.
- Provide regular feedback to students to support their learning and development.
- Ensuring Maintenance and Functionality of Cargo Handling Equipment:
- Ensure that all cargo handling equipment is well maintained and in good working condition.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule regular servicing and repairs of equipment.
