The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) was established by the National Gender and Equality Commission Act, 2011, pursuant to Article 59 (4) of the Constitution of Kenya. It is one of the three successor commissions to the Kenya National Human Rights and Equality Commission (KNHREC), alongside the Commission on Administrative Justice and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights. NGEC is mandated to promote gender equality and freedom from all forms of discrimination in Kenya, particularly for special interest groups. The Commission ensures compliance with policies, laws, and practices that promote equality and justice.
We are seeking highly motivated, visionary, dynamic, and results-oriented candidates to join our team. The available positions are:
- Programme Officer I/PA (Grade NGEC 6) – 1 Post
- Programme Officer II (Grade NGEC 7) – 1 Post
- Office Assistant III (Grade NGEC 10) – 2 Posts
All positions are on a permanent and pensionable basis, stationed at the Headquarters and Regional Offices.
1. Programme Officer I/PA – NGEC Scale 6

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies on issues of gender mainstreaming, children, youth, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and marginalized communities.
- Providing input in the development of funding proposals and technical briefings to support program activities.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of work plans and budgets to ensure effective implementation of program objectives.
- Coordinating with stakeholders to promote gender equality and inclusion in national development agendas.
- Conducting research and compiling reports on program outcomes and impact.
- Supporting the development of advocacy materials and participating in awareness campaigns to promote the Commission’s mandate.
- Facilitating training sessions and capacity-building workshops for partners and beneficiaries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to mainstream gender issues, including women, youth, persons with disabilities, minorities, marginalized groups, the elderly, and children, into the national development process.
- Developing concept papers and reports to support program initiatives and activities.
- Conducting situational analyses and needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention.
- Assisting in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of program activities to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.
- Supporting advocacy efforts by preparing communication materials and engaging with media platforms.
- Organizing and coordinating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and community dialogues.
- Participating in national and international forums to represent the Commission and share best practices in gender equality and social inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus to maintain a hygienic working environment.
- Cleaning the kitchen area and preparing tea for staff and visitors.
- Maintaining general cleanliness around the office premises by collecting and disposing of litter.
- Ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene standards are maintained within the office environment.
- Assisting in photocopying and binding documents as required by staff members.
- Dusting office furniture and equipment to keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Moving or carrying office equipment and furniture when necessary.
- Dispatching letters and parcels to various departments and external partners.
- Supporting administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
Skills and Attributes:
