What we’re looking for
In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below;
Reporting to the Cluster Lead – Front Line Marketing, the role holder will lead the development and execution of tailored customer strategies and propositions, aligned to consumer, shopper and customer opportunities. This entails being the interface between Commercial Units, Segment and Brand marketing and creation of alignment with the Channels Organization/Frontline to attain brilliant execution
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities.
Marketing
- Insights: Customer and Shopper insights that drive strategic planning and touch point execution including “nuances” in the market
- Strategy and Planning: Clear, simple category, customer and channel strategies that are National and Regional with focus into few channel segments and customers
- Activity Development: Develop initiatives that derive from those strategies led through excellent execution that deliver growth and value and competitive advantage
- Partnerships: Seek opportunities in the assigned portfolio to engage consumers on the brand to grow market share
- Stakeholder Alignment: Link Mission imperatives with business strategies, tactical direction, and operational oversight
- Go to Market: Work in close coordination with Segment Marketing, Product Owners and Channels Organization to develop a strong relevant portfolio strategy
- Execution: Lead execution and amplification of marketing plan for assigned portfolio
- Go to Market: Work in close coordination with segment and brand marketing to develop a strong relevant portfolio strategy for Safaricom
- Picture of Success: Deliver the market’s Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) process thereby ensuring that assigned Channels have high quality customer programs, materials & assets to deliver value to Safaricom
- M&E: Provide leadership to ensure that marketing activities are fully integrated and deliver brand and business objectives while ensuring the proper tools, systems, calendar, resources and metrics for maximum effectiveness
- Budgeting: Manage the Marketing budget for respective Channel
Partnerships and Stakeholder management
- Work with internal teams and external creative / media agencies to develop marketing strategies and plans that increase awareness, penetration and / or purchase frequency
- Partner with Sales and Customers to execute best-in-class strategies and win the sale in an omni-channel environment; understands how to maximize the business in respective Channel and collaborates to deliver results
Project Management
- Manage projects on time and on budget as well as exhibits decision-making abilities around investment alternatives that mitigate risk and maximize return
Qualifications
Qualifications;
- Degree in a Business-related field
- 6 years management experience in Sales & Marketing
- Experience leveraging data and trends to generate insights and transforming them into marketing innovation
- Deep understanding of total commercial spend, experience managing large marketing budget and media investment decisions
- Experience leading marketing communication & execution projects
Desirable
- Post graduate certification in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage
- Shopper/Customer Marketing
- Experience in Sales Distribution will be of an added advantage
- Ability to influence and lead within and without function
- Demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing data and synthesizing learning into insights and action to drive innovation in media mix decisions and strong business results.
- Action-oriented with the ability to think and react quickly to changing circumstances
- Strong sense of urgency, even when managing initiatives with long lead times, adaptability, and flexibility to meet changing priorities and adjust to different management styles
