Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the County Public Service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the County and to confirm appointments”
1. County Executive Committee Member
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this position, a candidate should:
a) Be a citizen of Kenya;
b) Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
c) Have at least five years of relevant professional and leadership experience from
Public or Private Sector;
d) Possess general knowledge of the organization and functions of Government;
e) Demonstrate an understanding of the goals, policies, and developmental objectives
of the nation;
f) Have demonstrable leadership and management capacity including knowledge of
Financial Management and Strategic People Management; and
g) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
2. Chief Officers [8 Posts]
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this position, a candidate should:
a) Be a citizen of Kenya;
b) Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
c) Have at least five years of relevant professional and leadership experience from
the Public or Private Sector
d) Possess general knowledge of the organization and functions of Government;
e) Demonstrate an understanding of the goals, policies and developmental objectives of
the nation;
f) Have demonstrable leadership and management capacity including knowledge of
Financial Management and Strategic People Management; and
g) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
3. Youth Polytechnic Instructor [48 Posts]
Requirements for appointment
i. Be a Kenyan citizen;
ii. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Agricultural
Engineering, Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering, Soil and
Water Engineering, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering,
Environmental and Bio-systems Engineering or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution with a focus on water
resources and irrigation;
iii. Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK);
iv. Certificate in computer application skills, specifically, knowledge in
Use of RTK in survey or any other geomapping software.
v. Familiarity with soil science, hydrology, and water management
principles;
vi. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills;
4. Assistant Public Health Officer [21 Posts]
Requirements for appointment
Be a Kenyan citizen;
ii. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Agricultural
Engineering, Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering, Soil and
Water Engineering, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering,
Environmental and Bio-systems Engineering or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution with a focus on water
resources and irrigation;
iii. Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK);
iv. Certificate in computer application skills, specifically, knowledge in
Engineer [2] – Irrigation
Requirements for appointment
i. Be a Kenyan citizen;
ii. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Agricultural
