Key Purpose Statement
The Artisan Electrical Process is responsible for operating and maintaining process area equipment according to established work instructions. This role involves executing non-destructive quality checks, conducting routine maintenance, and providing asset care support. The Artisan Electrical Process plays a critical role in ensuring smooth production operations by minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Operational Support
- Assist shift-based teams in their operations by providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
- Support team members with situational problem-solving to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities, ensuring timely execution and adherence to schedules.
- Engage in post-maintenance discussions to provide feedback, highlight opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
2. Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance tasks in line with the maintenance schedule.
- Conduct running repairs on plant and equipment as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Diagnose issues, determine appropriate solutions, and execute repairs promptly.
- Utilize problem-solving methodologies to address recurring equipment malfunctions.
- Take part in systemic problem-solving initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and reliability.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Work in accordance with safety protocols at all times, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Identify unsafe work practices and take corrective action to mitigate risks.
- Promote and apply 5S principles in the workplace to maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization.
4. Process Optimization & Training
- Support new product development (NPD) trials, ensuring seamless integration of new processes.
- Train and mentor operators on asset care best practices and autonomous maintenance techniques.
- Assist in the development of operational and technical standards to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Document and update work instructions to enhance clarity and standardization across maintenance tasks.
Skills, Experience & Education
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineering Artisan.
- At least 3 years experience in a utility environment.
Education:
- Minimum requirement: Diploma in Electrical Engineering with trade-tested accreditation.
- Added advantage: Degree in Electrical Engineering.
