To ensure provision of accurate aircraft performance data and timely acquisition of operating permits to enhance efficient flight support within the Kenya Airways Network
Detailed Description
- Develop and review aircraft performance policies and procedures so as to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and advice the company on aircraft performance capabilities to support solid business decisions on aircraft acquisitions, charter, purchases, and leases.
- Ensure expert technical consultation and support is provided to other departments as required for business and operations development in matters involving aircraft performance and operating permits.
- Ensure Kenya Airways aircraft conform to regulatory requirement of countries Kenya Airways operates into or overflies in order to maintain professionalism and acceptability internationally.
- Monitor evolving technologies for calculation and distribution of performance data to flight crew and flight dispatchers.
- To coordinate and supervise content, customization, revision, and production of aircraft technical manuals. This involves follow up of in-service related operational issues such as management of incorporation of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives. This activity requires close co-ordination and working with respective Fleet Managers and Engineering Development to ensure that all operational documentation and data is updated in a timely manner in accordance with KCARS, and Company policies.
- Liaise with KCAA to facilitate the approval/Acceptance of revised Airplane Flight Manuals, ETOPS Manuals, Performance Manuals and Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
- Acts as the designated Kenya Airways aircraft performance representative.
- Act as the designated FLOE representative in New Destinations and Aircraft Delivery and Redeliveries.
- Conduct On-Job-Training (OJT) for Flight Operations Engineers
- Investigate root cause and advice on best root cause correction for Safety, Security and Quality critical activities affecting FLOE Technical Services for ongoing conformity with all regulatory requirements, and organization standards.
- Implement corrective and preventative actions identified by Quality, Safety and Environment; investigations or other internal reporting mechanisms are undertaken within the agreed time frame.
- Ensure provision of flight risk analysis for all routes and aerodromes.
- In coordination with FLOE Navigation and infrastructure, Fleet Manager and Technical Pilot analyse and advice relevant departments on all aircraft performance restrictions.
- Ensure aircraft are registered with the RVSM governing bodies
- Assist coordinate projects within FLOE.
- Monitor the timely application and acquisition of Seasonal and Adhoc navigation and landing permits as required.
- Promote and Maintain a positive , Safety , Quality and Security culture for kenya Airways and its Partners by ensuring compliance with relevant industry, legislative and company standards therefore creating a healthy ,safe and secure environment.
- Monitor and ensure staff perform their tasks as per company standards and regulatory requirement. Conduct quality control checks and record any gaps
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the following Engineering courses – Mechanical, Electrical, Communications, Computer with at least 3 years’ experience in Flight Operations
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree Mathematics or Physics with at least 3 years’ experience in Flight Operations
- OR
- CPL/ATC/Flight Dispatch with at least 3 years relevant experience.
Additional Details
Aircraft Performance Specific Certificate, Aircraft Performance Software Certificate and Diploma in IT are desirable.
