The Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) is inviting applications for various internship positions across multiple departments. This is a great opportunity for unemployed Kenyan graduates to gain practical experience, enhance their skills, and build a foundation for their future careers.
Available Internship Positions
1. Procurement (2 Positions)
The selected interns will assist in procurement and supply chain management functions, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management. They will work under the guidance of senior procurement officers to ensure efficient procurement operations and adherence to institutional procurement policies.
2. Human Resource Management (1 Position)
The intern will assist in HR functions such as recruitment, employee records management, payroll processing, and training coordination. They will work closely with HR officers to support administrative tasks and ensure smooth HR operations.
3. ICTS (1 Position)
Interns will be involved in IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer systems. They will assist in software and hardware installations, network management, and ensuring data security within the institution.
4. Health Unit Section (1 Position)
Interns in this department will work in medical laboratory settings, assisting in conducting diagnostic tests, sample collection, and maintaining laboratory equipment. They will work under the supervision of qualified laboratory personnel to support healthcare services.
5. Planning (1 Position)
The intern will support data collection, analysis, and report writing related to institutional planning and policy-making. They will assist in economic analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities to enhance strategic decision-making.
6. Partnership Research and Innovation (1 Position)
Interns in this department will engage in laboratory research, supporting various analytical chemistry projects. Their responsibilities include conducting experiments, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards.
7. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) (1 Position)
Interns in this department will assist in practical and theoretical training in electrical and electronics engineering. Their duties include supporting laboratory work, developing instructional materials, and ensuring adherence to technical training guidelines.
Internship Terms and Conditions
- Must be an unemployed Kenyan graduate from a recognized tertiary institution or university.
- Contract duration: Six (6) months.
- Stipend: KES 25,000 per month for degree holders and KES 20,000 per month for diploma holders.
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation and transport.
- Selected candidates must sign a confidentiality agreement before starting the internship.
- A personal accident insurance cover is required.
- Must have medical insurance coverage from NHIF.
- A valid certificate of good conduct is mandatory.
