Job Profile
The Director, Institute of Health Care Management (IHM) will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, academic vision, and administrative oversight for the Institute. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Research and Innovation at SBS, the successful candidate will drive the Institute’s mission by overseeing academic programs, securing research funding, and ensuring the successful execution of research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Institute of Health Care Management, setting its strategic direction and ensuring its growth and sustainability.
- Provide academic and research leadership, ensuring the highest standards in teaching, research, and knowledge dissemination.
- Secure external research grants and funding to support research initiatives and projects.
- Oversee the design and execution of world-class academic and executive training programs in healthcare leadership and management.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with universities, research institutions, donors, and stakeholders locally and internationally.
- Develop policies and strategies to foster excellence in healthcare management education and research.
- Ensure effective mentoring and supervision of Master’s and PhD students, guiding them toward successful academic and research careers.
- Organize and participate in international and national conferences, workshops, and symposiums, representing the Institute and contributing to global healthcare research discussions.
- Manage the Institute’s resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
- Promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration within the university and with external partners.
- Ensure the production and publication of high-impact, peer-reviewed research in internationally recognized journals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ethical leadership, and social responsibility within the Institute.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a senior academic and researcher with a distinguished career in healthcare management, policy, or related fields. They should possess:
- Extensive experience in managing research institutes, centers, or large research programs.
- A proven track record of securing and managing substantial external research grants.
- Strong academic credentials with a significant publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, and supervising Master’s and PhD students.
- Demonstrated leadership in organizing and participating in national and international conferences and research symposiums.
- Strong networking and partnership-building skills with local and international research institutions and donors.
- A results-driven approach with the ability to drive innovation and excellence in healthcare management education and research.
