INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT OPPORTUNITIES (MAY – JULY 2025 INTAKE)

Kenya Power is committed to supporting youth empowerment by providing valuable industrial attachment opportunities. This program is designed to offer continuing students hands-on work experience, enabling them to develop key employability skills that will enhance their future career prospects. The attachment will run for a period of three (3) months from May to July 2025.

Available Attachment Categories

The industrial attachment program will accommodate students from various educational backgrounds, including Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, and Craft Certificate programs, under the following categories:

  • Technical Programs (for Bachelor’s, Diploma, and Craft Certificate students)
  • Non-Technical Programs (for Bachelor’s and Diploma students)
  • Craft Certificate Programs:
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power Option)
    • Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
    • Building & Civil Engineering
    • Plumbing

Job Description and Responsibilities

1. Technical Attachment (Degree & Diploma)

This category involves attachment opportunities in technical fields such as engineering and related disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the inspection, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Participate in engineering projects under supervision.
  • Support data collection, report writing, and research on emerging technologies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical faults.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure smooth operations of power systems.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a continuing student pursuing a Degree or Diploma in a technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Must have an introduction letter from the respective institution.
  • Must be available full-time for the duration of the attachment.

2. Non-Technical Attachment (Degree & Diploma)

This category covers attachment positions in business, finance, human resources, and other non-technical disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in administrative duties, including data entry and document management.
  • Support project coordination activities within various departments.
  • Conduct research and analysis relevant to business operations.
  • Engage in customer service and communication roles as required.
  • Assist in financial reporting, procurement, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a continuing student pursuing a Degree or Diploma in a non-technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Must have an introduction letter from the respective institution.
  • Must be available full-time for the duration of the attachment.

3. Craft Certificate Attachment

This category is designed for students pursuing craft certificate courses in specific technical areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in fieldwork activities, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and civil engineering tasks.
  • Participate in maintenance and repair operations under supervision.
  • Support site inspections and safety compliance initiatives.
  • Help with materials handling and logistical support for ongoing projects.
  • Gain practical experience in technical problem-solving and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a continuing student pursuing a Craft Certificate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power Option), Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Building & Civil Engineering, or Plumbing.
  • Must have an introduction letter from the respective institution.
  • Must be available full-time for the duration of the attachment.

Reference Numbers for Applications

  1. Undergraduate Attachment: KP1/ATTGRAD/25/2
  2. Diploma Attachment: KP1/ATTDIP/25/2
  3. Craft Certificate Attachment: KP1/ATTCERT/25/2
