Key Responsibilities
Mobilization and Project Implementation at Local Level
- Mobilize the community for all BDECM project interventions.
- Act as the link between the community, local institutions, and partners for project implementation of the three-track ministry.
- Utilize participatory approaches to encourage community ownership of development initiatives.
- Organize and lead community involvement in national events such as DAC (Day of the African Child) and project handover celebrations.
- Promote child protection and support systems for abused children while strengthening referral mechanisms.
- Document and share best practices from community engagement.
- Organize and coordinate capacity-building initiatives for communities and local partners.
- Engage in planning and reporting for local programming.
- Facilitate the identification of local needs and resources using participatory methods.
- Develop monthly schedules for field monitoring and ensure their implementation.
- Conduct participatory monitoring with involvement from local partners and communities.
- Ensure standardized data collection during project monitoring.
- Participate in project evaluation and planning processes.
- Prepare and submit monthly field progress reports while maintaining proper documentation.
- Engage community leaders and partners in planning and executing monitoring activities.
- Participate in routine monitoring and reflection sessions to improve program implementation.
Engagement and Networking
- Represent the organization in key community-level stakeholder forums, including CP (Child Protection), WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and L&R (Livelihoods and Resilience) activities.
- Identify community needs and communicate them to the Manager for resource mobilization.
- Empower community members to advocate for child well-being issues such as ending child marriage and addressing climate change.
- Collaborate with local partners, County Government, CP structures, and other stakeholders to support child protection and child participation initiatives.
- Ensure all child protection issues are reported and resolved within required timelines.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Diploma in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field. A degree is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of field experience working with communities, particularly on child-focused programming.
- Familiarity with program design and management within an NGO setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with local authorities, organizations, and NGOs to develop and maintain positive relationships.
- Must possess a valid motorcycle riding license and be able to ride a motorcycle.
