We are looking for a Quality Assurance Consultant to provide expert technical and programmatic guidance in project review processes. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with UNEP’s corporate standards, including Results-Based Management (RBM) and the Environmental and Social Sustainability Framework (ESSF).
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical and programmatic guidance to enhance project review processes.
- Ensuring compliance with UNEP’s corporate standards, including the Project Quality Design Matrix and the risk-based tiered approach.
- Monitoring and evaluating projects using performance indicators related to UNEP’s Environmental and Social Sustainability Framework (ESSF).
- Conducting quality assurance checks to ensure continuous improvement in project design and implementation.
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance project risk management and effectiveness.
- Reviewing project proposals to ensure alignment with UNEP’s policies and objectives.
- Collaborating with project teams to strengthen environmental and social risk assessments.
- Providing recommendations for optimizing project performance and impact.
- Preparing reports and documentation on quality assurance findings and project improvements.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practices in project execution.

Work Location
The duty station for this role is Nairobi, Kenya.
Expected Duration
This is a consultancy position with a fixed-term duration. Further details on the contract period will be provided during the recruitment process.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of Results-Based Management (RBM) principles.
- Experience in project quality assurance and risk management.
- Knowledge of UNEP’s Environmental and Social Sustainability Framework (ESSF).
- Ability to analyze and interpret project data to enhance compliance and effectiveness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
Languages
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Knowledge of additional UN languages is an advantage.
