HR/606/25 – Postdoctoral Fellow (SymbioVector Project)

Location: icipe Thomas Odhiambo Campus

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced research on the SymbioVector project, focusing on insect symbiosis and vector biology.
  • Develop and apply novel scientific methodologies to study vector-pathogen interactions.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at conferences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including entomologists, microbiologists, and epidemiologists.
  • Supervise and mentor junior researchers and graduate students.
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals and funding applications.

  • Engage with partners, stakeholders, and funding agencies to enhance project impact.
  • Assist in the supervision of research assistants and interns.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of capacity-building programs for students, researchers, and stakeholders.
  • Organize training workshops, seminars, and outreach activities.
  • Assist in curriculum development and training material preparation.

  • Facilitate knowledge exchange between icipe and partner institutions.
  • Maintain records of training activities and prepare reports for management.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects.
  • Develop work plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, reporting requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Prepare detailed project reports and presentations for management and donors.
