Job Summary:
USIU-Africa seeks qualified candidates for a Program Administrator position in the Design Your Future Integrated Innovation Pipeline Program (DYF-IPP). The Innovation and Incubation Center is implementing DYF-IPP, which will benefit students by integrating innovative ideas into projects, businesses, and social enterprises that address complex societal challenges through the provision of simple solutions. The primary objective is to generate transformative ideas across sectors, assemble a team to refine and execute them, and bring them to life.
By aligning these initiatives, the Incubation Center aims to lead in fostering impactful innovations, leveraging inter-institutional collaboration, and preparing participants for real-world entrepreneurial challenges. As a Business Development Trainer, you will not only contribute to the success of the DYF-IPP initiatives but also have the opportunity for personal growth and development in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Job Description:
As a Program Administrator, you will contribute to the successful implementation of the DYF-IPP initiatives, with responsibilities aligned to the following:
- Program Support
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing innovation and incubation programs and initiatives.
- Monitor and track program progress, including participant engagement and outcomes, and prepare reports as needed.
- Administrative Duties
- Manage the Center’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, events, and appointments for staff and program participants.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to incubatees, mentors, and program activities.
- Handle correspondence, inquiries, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a point of contact for students, alumni, and external partners interested in the Center’s programs.
- Event Coordination
- Organize logistics for events such as pitch competitions, networking sessions, and innovation showcases, including venue setup, catering, and preparation of materials.
- Collaborate with vendors, guest speakers, and partners to ensure the successful delivery of the event.
- Promote events through university channels and assist with participant registration and follow-up.
- Resource Management
- Support the management of the Center’s resources, including equipment, workspace, and supplies.
- Assist in preparing budgets, tracking expenditures, and processing requisitions or reimbursements.
- Communication and Outreach
- Contribute to the creation of promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content to raise awareness of the Center’s activities.
- Collect success stories and testimonials from program participants for reporting and marketing purposes.
Key Skills and Personal Attributes
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in program coordination, administrative support, or a similar role, preferably in an educational or entrepreneurial setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Scale
The consolidated pay for this position ranges from Kshs. 40,000/= to Kshs. 50,000/= per month with no other benefits.
