This initiative is in line with the Government’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and skills development. The program targets students pursuing various courses in technical and non-technical fields and aims to provide them with practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment.
The attachment program will run for a maximum period of three (3) months, commencing in May and concluding in July 2025. This is a valuable opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-life work situations while developing vital employability skills for future career prospects.

Kenya Power is inviting applications from eligible students under the following educational categories:
1. Bachelor’s Degree Programs – Technical and Non-Technical Fields

Job Description:
- Participate in technical operations within Kenya Power’s specialized departments, such as electrical systems maintenance, power transmission, and grid monitoring.
- Support administrative, human resources, procurement, finance, legal, or corporate communication departments, depending on the student’s academic specialization.
- Engage in research, data entry, records management, and drafting of departmental reports.
- Attend scheduled training sessions and mentorship forums to enhance industry understanding.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ongoing projects in line with Kenya Power’s strategic objectives.
- Perform any other relevant duties assigned by departmental supervisors.

- Support technicians and departmental staff in carrying out field work or office-based tasks.
- Provide assistance in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
- Aid in report compilation, document verification, and file management.
- Participate in safety briefings and adhere to established safety protocols in technical environments.
- Contribute to team efforts in both project implementation and routine operations.
Ideal For:
Students enrolled in diploma programs in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ICT, Business Management, Finance, Procurement, Public Relations, and other related courses.
3. Craft Certificate Programs

- Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power Option)

- Plumbing
Job Description:
- Work under supervision in maintenance and repair operations of electrical systems and mechanical equipment.
- Participate in site visits, installations, and routine inspections as required.
- Assist in assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical components.
- Help in interpreting basic technical drawings and implementing simple engineering tasks.
- Learn and apply safety and operational standards in a practical setting.
Ideal For:
Craft Certificate students in the above technical areas, looking to gain fundamental exposure in Kenya Power’s operational environment.
Attachment Period
- Duration: 3 months
- Timeline: May – July 2025
- Location: Various departments and regional offices across the country, based on Kenya Power’s operational needs and departmental capacity.
General Requirements for All Applicants
To be eligible for consideration, all interested candidates must:
- Be a continuing student enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Craft Certificate in the specified fields above.
- Be available on a full-time basis for the entire attachment period (May to July 2025).
- Possess a valid introduction letter from their respective institution confirming their student status and request for industrial attachment placement.
