Job Description:
The Chief of Internal Audit will lead the Internal Audit function of IOM globally, ensuring the organization complies with internal control standards and risk management practices. This role involves directing strategic audit planning, supervising internal audit teams, and reporting findings to senior management and the Audit and Oversight Advisory Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the development of internal audit strategies, methodologies, and work plans.
  • Oversee the execution of audits in line with international auditing standards.
  • Evaluate internal control systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed reports highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective measures.
  • Liaise with external auditors, donors, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Contribute to capacity building across regional audit teams through training and mentorship.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Recognized professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in auditing or financial oversight, including at least 7 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Prior experience working with the UN system or other international organizations is highly desirable.
  • Proven knowledge of international auditing standards and risk-based auditing techniques.
  • Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.

2. Information Management Officer (BRaVe Development)

The Information Management Officer will manage the lifecycle of the BRaVe system (Biometric Registration and Verification Ecosystem) to ensure safe, secure, and efficient registration for humanitarian operations. The incumbent will coordinate system development, data management, and application deployment, aligning with programmatic needs and humanitarian best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of the BRaVe system in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that data protection and privacy standards are upheld in line with IOM’s Data Protection Principles.
  • Collaborate with field teams to gather requirements and deliver system enhancements.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and partners on system usage.
  • Provide quality assurance for system outputs and integrations with other platforms.

Qualifications:

3. Programme Officer (IDP Registration)

4. Software Developer (BRaVe)

Under the direct supervision of the Information Management Officer, the Software Developer will contribute to the technical development of the BRaVe system.   • Design and develop new system features and applications within the BRaVe platform.
  • Maintain system documentation and manage source code repositories.
  • Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of applications.

  • Support field staff with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Qualifications:
