The County Government of Nyandarua, through its County Public Service Board, is committed to providing accessible, responsive, and efficient services to its residents. In line with this commitment and in accordance with its statutory mandate to oversee the recruitment of personnel in the County Government, the Board seeks to fill the following positions as part of an addendum to the earlier advertisement published in the Standard Newspaper on Thursday, 20th March 2025.
This addendum corrects the previously advertised post of Orthopaedic Surgeon and introduces the following confirmed vacancies. All other previously stated terms and conditions remain unchanged.
The County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified and competent individuals to fill the following two hundred and one (201) positions across various departments.
1. Interns (All Departments) – 200 Posts
The County Government of Nyandarua recognizes the importance of youth empowerment and the need to provide young professionals with opportunities for practical experience in public service. In light of this, the County is offering internship opportunities across all its departments for a period aimed at fostering career growth and skills development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily departmental functions under the supervision of a designated officer.
- Participate in data collection, research, and report compilation.
- Provide support in administrative tasks such as filing, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Attend training sessions and briefings organized by the department or the Public Service Board.
- Contribute ideas and support the execution of departmental programs and initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and work plans where applicable.
- Engage in stakeholder engagements and outreach initiatives under the guidance of senior officers.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in the execution of all tasks.
- Complete regular reports and submit progress updates to assigned supervisors.
Objective of the Internship Program:
- To provide practical on-the-job training that supplements theoretical knowledge.
- To expose interns to the working environment of county government and public service.
- To instill ethical, innovative, and professional conduct in the interns.
- To contribute to capacity building by involving interns in county service delivery.
The internship program will be offered in all departments including but not limited to:
- Health Services
- Finance and Economic Planning
- Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries
- Education, Gender, and Social Services
- Roads, Public Works, and Transport
- Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development
- Water, Environment, Tourism, and Natural Resources
- Trade, Industrialization, and Cooperatives
- County Public Service Management

2. Internist Physician (Re-advertisement) – Job Group ‘Q’ – 1 Post
The Department of Health Services is seeking to recruit a highly qualified and experienced Internist Physician. This is a re-advertised position and candidates who previously applied are encouraged to reapply if they still meet the required criteria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive consultation services in internal medicine to inpatients and outpatients.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of adult medical conditions, both chronic and acute, within the scope of internal medicine.
- Carry out specialized diagnostic procedures and manage complex medical conditions requiring expert care.
- Conduct patient rounds and manage referrals to other medical specialists when needed.
- Supervise medical officers, clinical officers, and other support staff involved in patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of medical protocols, policies, and procedures within the health facility.
- Offer expert advice and recommendations during case reviews, ward rounds, and clinical audits.
- Participate in medical research and continuous medical education (CME) programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve service delivery and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and interns within the department.
- Assist in the implementation of health programs and initiatives focused on adult care and non-communicable diseases.
- Prepare timely medical reports, documentation, and case summaries for reference and legal purposes.
This position is critical to ensuring the effective delivery of internal medicine services and improving overall patient outcomes within the county’s health facilities. The successful candidate will be stationed at a county referral facility and will work in collaboration with other specialists to promote quality healthcare provision in Nyandarua County.
