Currently the Bank is seeking additional talent to serve in the role of Regional Relationship Manager Pamoja Banking.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Regional Manager Business has the responsibility to coordinate all the groups’ business at the regional level to ensure the bank strategies, goals and objectives are achieved. 

The role holder will support the business achieve its objectives on Customer Recruitment, Deposit mobilization, Growth of the asset, identifying Investment & Insurance opportunities, quality management, staff productivity, training, and implementation of the segment strategy at the regional level. 

Key Responsibilities:

Market Outreach & Promotion: 

  • Hold consultative meetings with stakeholders e.g. DSDO, Chiefs, market opinion leaders to arrange meetings with potential clients (groups).
  • Prepare keynote message for general and specific forums to sell Pamoja banking value proposition to the market.
  • Provide Marketing and promotion materials to the Pamoja banking officers
  • Manage inquiries on Pamoja Banking at the regional level and in the marketplace.
  • A brand ambassador of equity bank in the market.

Training, Mentorship & Coaching

  • Oversee and support in pre-registration and post registration training of groups.
  • Flagging off newly trained groups for financial solutions uptake.
  • Training group officials through meeting forums for all group leadership organized by branches.
  • Cascade the group methodology to Pamoja banking officers and the branches.
  • Induction & Training of new Pamoja banking staff.
  • Training BCCs
  • Enhance the Organization culture and core values among the Segment Team members.

Monitoring & Surveillance

  • Custodian of Segment Policies & procedures
  • Daily monitoring of disbursements and deposits to ensure that they are within the policy.
  • Groups Audits and Compliance
  • Growth of the Pamoja banking Portfolio.
  • Seek and manage Partnerships aligned to the portfolio growth objectives. 
  • Support branches in growth initiative such as Chama Loans appraisals and engaging Individual group members on Investment opportunities.
  • Relationship management of the depositors in the region.
  • Participate in development of Sector Products and reviews based on market needs.
  • Participate in formulation of the Sector strategy and ensures its full implementation.

Quality Management

  • Relationship management of the borrowers in the region.
  • Weekly engagement with staff on arrears management.
  • Approve savings refund and recommend savings forfeiture in groups.
  • Snap check visits to groups to monitor officer attendance.
  • Support in managing storming groups within the region.
  • Query daily arrears report with the officers and branch.
  • Ensuring compliance of staff to P&Ps.
  • Train the BCC and branches on any amendments in the Pamoja banking product offering.

Staff Productivity

  •  Monitor daily productivity of Sector staff in the branches. 
  • Hold regular performance review discussions with Pamoja banking officers in the region.
  • Identifying staff gaps, training of new staff and deployment of staff to branches
  • Directs and executes the Organization staff performance management plans.
  • Regional Sector Staff Growth and development, Talent identification and recommendation for alignment to available opportunities
  • Query & Share productivity report with the branches.
  • Demand results on all KPIs as per the Pamoja banking officer performance contracts.

Customer service

  • Enforcing service delivery within the stipulated SLAs.
  • Conflict resolution within the groups.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years’ work experience as a Relationship Officer or similar role.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and review policies and procedures.
  • Ability to oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • Understanding of necessary legal and regulatory documents.
  • Ability to address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
