The holder of the role will be responsible for defining and implementing the infrastructure and cloud architecture strategy in a dynamic environment. The Domain Architect will focus on shaping the Architecture and the Bank’s technology landscape, ensuring that the Infrastructure and Cloud solutions are robust, aligned with business objectives, secure, and capable of supporting the Bank’s growth and innovation initiatives.
The holder of the role will report to the Head of Group Enterprise Architecture and Governance.
Key Responsibilities; –
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy for Infrastructure & Cloud, aligning it with the Bank’s business goals, regulatory requirements, technological advancements and industry best practices. Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams and external partners to understand infrastructure requirements and formulate responsive strategic solutions.
- Develop and maintain the high level and low-level architecture blueprints of infrastructure and cloud domain.
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud architecture, ensuring seamless integration with existing on-premises infrastructure – evaluate and recommend an adoption plan for cloud services and providers based on business requirements, security, performance, cost and security considerations.
- In collaboration with cross-functional teams optimize the performance and efficiency of the overall IT infrastructure; Define and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions, encompassing server architecture, storage, networking, virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Ensure Security best practices are integrated into infrastructure and cloud designs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies; Collaborate with security teams to support implementation of security controls within the infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, and best practices in infrastructure and cloud computing domain.
- Support to evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Bank’s infrastructure foundation.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and facilitate effective communication of the Architecture direction on the area of Infrastructure & Cloud.
- Collaborate with IT operations and business continuity teams to support in the development and maintenance of robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans and the efficiency of the processes.
- Participate in the regular assessments and drills to validate the effectiveness of Technology recovery plans.
The Person
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study
- Master’s degree in technology / business will be an added advantage
- Professional Qualifications/ Relevant certifications in AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Cloud Solutions Architect / (AWS or Azure or GCP) is required.
- Infrastructure Certifications is desired.
- Networking Certifications is desired.
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification is desired
- 10 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology is required
- 5 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines in Infrastructure such as (Core infrastructure Servers, Storage, Networks, Cloud) is required as well as the following desired requirements:
- 5 years’ strong understanding of security principles, compliance, and best practices in cloud and infrastructure design.
- 5 Years experience with hybrid cloud architectures and migrations from on-premises to the cloud.
- 5 years’ experience with hybrid cloud architectures and migrations from on-premises to the cloud.
- 3 years’ experience with Enterprise Architecture with a focus on Infrastructure & Cloud.
- 5 years of exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, cloud, and processing environments.
- 3 years of excellent understanding of software delivery processes, and methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, hybrid) & DevOps.
- 5 years of exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- 5 years of excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to break down complex items to actionable elements.
- 5 years Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture
- 5 years Familiarity with graphical modeling approaches, tools and model repositories.
- 5 years Ability to balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications on individual components and projects
- 5 years’ ability to liaise with all levels of management and subject matter experts across the industry and within the organization to drive the evolution of the core banking domain area.
