The Public Service Commission (PSC) invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for consideration for nomination to the position of Member, Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) in accordance with Article 230 (2)(b)(ii) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and Part II, Section 7(1) of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act, 2011.
This recruitment process seeks to identify an individual to represent the Public Service Commission in the Salaries and Remuneration Commission as a member. The successful nominee will be appointed by the President for a single term of six (6) years, non-renewable.
About the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
The SRC is an independent constitutional commission established under Article 230 of the Constitution of Kenya. It is mandated to:
- Set and regularly review the remuneration and benefits of all state officers.
- Advise the national and county governments on the remuneration and benefits of all other public officers.
SRC ensures fairness, equity, and transparency in public service pay to attract and retain skilled personnel while safeguarding fiscal sustainability.

Term: One non-renewable term of six (6) years

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as a Member of the SRC, with the following key functions:
- Inquire into and advise on the salaries and remuneration to be paid out of public funds.
- Keep under review all matters relating to the salaries and remuneration of public officers.
- Advise national and county governments on harmonization, equity, and fairness of remuneration for public sector staff to enhance talent attraction and retention.
- Conduct comparative labour market surveys to determine appropriate remuneration structures and the monetary worth of public service jobs.
- Determine salary review cycles to guide Parliament in allocating funds for salary adjustments.
- Make recommendations on salary and remuneration matters of specific public or state officers.
- Recommend pension reviews for holders of public offices.
- Execute any other functions as mandated by the Constitution or other relevant laws.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
- Possess knowledge and at least ten (10) years of experience in any of the following fields:
- Finance and Administration
- Public Management
- Economics
- Human Resource Management
- Labour Laws
- Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
- Must have had a distinguished career in their respective field of expertise.

- Letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission for University Education (CUE) for degrees obtained from foreign institutions

- The salary and benefits attached to this position have been determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
- Term of Service:
- The Member shall be appointed for a single term of six years and is not eligible for re-appointment.
