The Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) is a non-profit, public charity organisation dedicated to strengthening and promoting science and innovation throughout the African continent. Our primary goal is to tackle the most pressing development challenges in Africa through scientific research and knowledge that informs policy, supports innovation, and improves lives.
At SFA Foundation, we foster a thriving research ecosystem by funding groundbreaking research ideas, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, building enabling environments for researchers, and generating high-quality, locally relevant knowledge. We take a holistic approach to supporting the entire research value chain—from early discovery to translational sciences—through structured, science-driven initiatives.
Our commitment is evident in our well-established grant-making schemes, science advocacy, promotion of excellence, emphasis on intra-Africa collaborations, and policy engagement efforts. To continue nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders and changemakers, we are excited to invite applications to our Graduate Trainee Programme.
