1. Primary Teacher I (Junior Secondary Section – Baraton International School)
Job Classification: Full-time
Number of Positions Available: Two (2)
Location: Baraton International School
Subject Combinations Required:
- Mathematics/Physics
- Mathematics/Chemistry
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Diploma in Education with C+ at KCSE (or equivalent) and C+ in two teaching subjects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education is an added advantage.
- For Diploma Teachers:
- KCSE mean grade of C+ with C+ in two teaching subjects.
- Diploma from a recognized Teacher Training Institution.
- Teachers who graduated in 2008 or before with C (plain) and C (plain) in teaching subjects are eligible.
- Active registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Commitment to the CBC curriculum; CBC training is an added advantage.
- Adventist in good regular standing (must provide recommendation from local church pastor).
- Kenyan citizenship required.
- Any prior teaching experience will be an added advantage.
- Must provide Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model of Christian values and maintain learner discipline.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, timetables, and other academic records to ensure timely syllabus coverage.
- Teach subject combinations and impart knowledge and skills.
- Evaluate and prepare students for national and internal examinations.
- Propose and integrate new teaching ideas and curriculum improvements.
- Safeguard the physical and emotional well-being of learners.
- Promote cleanliness, tidiness, and health in the school environment.
- Foster collaboration with colleagues for effective CBC delivery.
- Provide guidance and counseling to instill moral values.
- Participate in training workshops, symposiums, and seminars.
- Engage learners in co-curricular activities to nurture talent.
- Facilitate practical, hands-on learning experiences.
- Integrate digital tools, local resources, and inclusive education methods.
- Organize remedial teaching for struggling learners.
- Track student progress using formative and summative assessment methods.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and life skills.
- Create a stimulating learning environment to encourage exploration and innovation.

2. Tutorial Fellow in Clinical Medicine
Job Classification: Full-time
Number of Positions Available: Five (5)
School: School of Nursing and Health Sciences
Location: University of Eastern Africa, Baraton Campus
Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Master of Science in Clinical Medicine from an accredited university.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or a related field (e.g., Medicine) with:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or Second-Class Upper Division.
- Minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ or equivalent.
- Valid practice license from the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
- At least three years of university-level teaching or research experience as a Tutorial/Research Fellow.
- PhD registration in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Clinical experience with direct patient care will enhance application.
- Proficiency in:
- Statistical software (e.g., SPSS),
- Microsoft Office Suite,
- E-learning platforms,
- School Management Systems.
- Skilled in modern clinical teaching methods and simulation technologies.
- Practicing Christian in good and regular standing.
- Willingness to uphold and promote the values of the University.
- Must provide certified academic certificates and transcripts, as well as a Certificate of Good Conduct from DCI.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction for undergraduate and diploma courses in Clinical Medicine and related areas.
- Develop materials for blended and e-learning environments.
- Align departmental goals with the university’s mission and strategic plans.
- Contribute to departmental planning and documentation.
- Offer practical, professional training to students.
- Organize and supervise clinical placements and educational field trips.
- Attend academic conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge.
- Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and review processes.
- Collaborate in departmental meetings and academic planning.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and professional matters.
- Set, mark, and submit semester examinations and assessments.
- Execute any other responsibilities as assigned by the university administration.
