Job Overview
As a Quality Engineer (Customer Quality & DQA), you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products across markets. The ideal candidate will define, specify, monitor, and drive quality processes, from product inspection to systemic improvements, in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all products—whether imported, locally manufactured, or returned—meet the required quality and labeling standards. Your role will support the broader objective of providing a consistently positive customer experience and maintaining compliance with both internal standards and country-specific regulations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Quality Management
- Sample and visually inspect the quality of all imported and locally manufactured products.
- Monitor product quality across the supply chain, including stock in trade, products received, stored, and dispatched.
- Ensure that all dispatched products meet quality requirements and labeling aligns with national standards.
2. Product Analysis
- Conduct root cause analysis for customer returns and field defects.
- Prepare detailed analysis reports and ensure timely communication to manufacturers for necessary improvements.
- Follow through to ensure corrective measures are implemented promptly.
- Produce and share weekly and monthly analysis reports with the Product Quality & Engineering team.
3. Customer Feedback and Awareness
- Lead investigations into non-product related quality issues and customer education-related concerns.
- Identify systemic patterns and develop strategies to resolve recurring customer issues.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to disseminate knowledge and implement changes.
4. Project Management
- Identify key areas for improvement through data tracking.
- Propose and manage cross-functional quality improvement projects.
- Ensure the successful execution of projects to elevate quality standards across operations.
5. Data Management
- Establish and audit data accuracy within internal systems, focusing on product failure rate analysis.
- Continuously monitor field data to identify trends and flag potential failures.
- Ensure comprehensive, up-to-date information is available for timely corrective actions.
6. Auditing and Monitoring
- Conduct regular quality audits across local manufacturing processes and outputs.
- Evaluate service centers, warehouses, call centers, and other departments to verify adherence to pre-defined quality protocols.
- Recommend and enforce improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and compliance.
7. Training and Capacity Building
- Train internal teams and stakeholders across operating companies (OpCos) on quality improvement techniques.
- Provide coaching and mentorship for executing special quality drives and periodic improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing workshops and encourage best practices.
8. Safety Standards Compliance
- Enforce company-wide safety and quality standards during product storage and movement within warehouses.
- Coordinate adherence to safety protocols in in-house service/repair centers.
- Organize proper disposal of non-repairable goods in line with safety and environmental regulations.
9. Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reports for Management Review Meetings (MRM).
- Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing process deviations.
- Maintain systems and infrastructure that support consistent, high-quality product delivery.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To evaluate performance in this role, the following KPIs will be used:
- Turnaround Time (TAT): Improve the speed of identifying issues, diagnosing data, and executing accurate containment and resolution actions.
- Product Defect Rate Improvement: Achieve measurable reductions in product defects across categories.
- Audit Effectiveness: Improve internal audit processes and implement actionable quality improvement plans.
