Position: Male External Member – County Assembly Service Board
Terms of Service
- The appointment is on a part-time basis.
- The salary and benefits for this position will be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) in accordance with applicable regulations.
Job Description
As a Member of the County Assembly Service Board (CASB), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the strategic direction of the County Assembly through participation in high-level governance decisions. The CASB is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the County Assembly and supporting legislative operations through robust administrative structures.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Participating in the formulation and implementation of policies and strategies aimed at strengthening the performance of the County Assembly.
- Contributing to the oversight and management of the County Assembly Service, ensuring institutional integrity, accountability, and transparency.
- Supporting the development of human resource strategies that promote a professional and performance-oriented culture within the Assembly Service.
- Reviewing and approving key administrative reports and frameworks related to the management and development of the County Assembly.
- Advising on the allocation and use of resources to facilitate effective legislative processes, representation, and oversight functions.
- Upholding the values and principles of public service, ensuring the Assembly adheres to legal frameworks and constitutional standards.
- Offering expert opinions and guidance on matters of governance, public policy, and institutional strengthening.
This role requires a deep understanding of public affairs and a strong commitment to impartial service, integrity, and professionalism.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for appointment to this position, an applicant must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Be a resident of Samburu County, with demonstrable understanding and experience in public affairs.
- Not be a sitting member of the Samburu County Assembly.
- Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
- Possess at least ten (10) years of experience in public affairs.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, on Leadership and Integrity.
Required Compliance and Clearances
Applicants are expected to obtain clearances from the following institutions in line with public service integrity guidelines:
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax compliance certificate.
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) – Integrity clearance.
- Criminal Investigations Department (CID) – Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) – Clearance for financial responsibility.
